I was between that or the misfit bolt. The main reason is not having to chArge the battery. I have too many devices already I have to remember to charge and I feel that chore would keep me from using the watch. Both the Garmin (some models) and the Misfit have a 6-12 month battery replacement interval.

The bolt is lighter and less bulky but the Garmin is cheaper with longer battery life. Also has a display screen.

I have the Vivoactive (not HR). I like it a lot. At first I was set on having the heart rate but after reading about unreliability issues (especially during exercise) with the wrist-based sensors I decided to go the cheaper route.

I like the apps from Garmin and customizable watchfaces. The battery lasts well over a week and that's with using the gps for ~45 mins/day 5 days a week.

Only real con I have is that if you're using it to track your steps it can be a little too sensitive while driving. I turn mine off for my commute to /from work otherwise I'll have a bogus mile walked.

Overall I'm pleasantly surprised with the product and wish I could justify upgrading to the Fenix 3 for some more features and it actually looks like a watch.

I've had the vivosmart HR for about a month now.

Pros:
I like how it displays texts and alerts from your phone.
I also like how it vibrates when you are getting a call or message.

Cons:
It will not sync with the media player on my phone to enable the audio controls.
Floor counter doesn't always work.
Weather doesn't always load.
Intensity meter seems to arbitrarily record an elevated resting heart rate as work.
Won't always sync with the app.

The watch was a gift, and it has been pretty neat to use. The Garmin app is a little buggy and isn't very user-friendly. Overall, I really like it and find it most useful for showing texts when I can't access my phone.

I also have a Vivoactive (not HR). Other than it being the ugliest watch I've ever owned, I actually really like it. I haven't swam with it, but I use it for step counting, running, biking, and golf. Although I didn't buy it for the golf part, that's probably been my favorite feature. Yards to the hole, and keeping my scores archived has been really cool.
Battery life is unreal, in a good way. Charge it once every ten days or so.
I don't really care about the smartwatch features, but it is nice for me to see on my watch when a call or text is coming in.
Overall, I have been very pleased with my purchase. If only it wasn't so ugly....
