Anti Virus App for Phone?

What anti virus app does the TB recommend for a cell phone? I have been using AVG and it is wanting permission to be the admin of my phone and keeps sending me that notification. I think it is time for a change.

This is a thing?
I've had iphones since they first came out and have never had any concern over a virus.

Don't know if it's needed. They are small computers though. It will be great if not needed.

What type of phone? ESET makes a mobile security app for Android phones that you can get seperately or as part of an overall package for computers and mobile devices

I wouldn't say it's completely not needed, Google just pulled 500 apps from the Play Store that were recently found to have spyware. LINK We keep seeing stories like this so in time you might need an extra layer of protection.
But in general the apps you get from the official stores are reviewed by Google/Apple to make sure they're legit and apps have to ask you for permission to access things when you install them. As long as you don't load sketch apps and don't give too many permissions to apps you don't trust, you should be fine for the most part. I'm not even sure if mobile virus software would have even detected or stopped the hundreds of apps I mentioned before.

I've never run in to a reason for needing an anti virus for the phone I feel like it is either impossible or very hard to get a virus.

It is a Samsung
I know Samsung makes its own OS but I think most I've seen are Android phones. ESET will work for you, if so. I'm with others in that I am uncertain how vulnerable phones actual are but I think there is at least some now and I would expect more going forward.
