Anyone that has an Apple Watch series 2 or 3 (non carrier version). Can you use Spotify on the watch? As in can I download a playlist and go for a run and leave my phone at home? Or does it need to be sync'd to my phone to in order to play/ change songs?

I'm going back and forth on getting the watch. Also curious if getting the Series 3 with the bigger price tag and extra $10 a month is really worth it...

Series 2 ~$270
Series 3: $359
Series 3 w Cellular: $429 + $10 per month

Also, if I decide against the Series 3 with cellular. Does the series 2 differ that much from the 3 without cellular that much to warrant the $90 price difference?

i think spotify has a workaround app. i wish GPM did but i havent found any way to get GPM songs downloaded onto the watch's hard drive.

I have the series 3 (non-cellular) and I believe there's an app in the works but it's not widely available at the moment. Don't quote me 100% on that but that's the last I had heard.

My wife has the Series 1 and her battery is at about 15% by 6pm. Mine will be at about 50-60% (and even with a workout) by 6pm. The biggest difference is the battery life and the responsiveness of the watches.

When I mess with her series 1 it's UNBELIEVABLY more sluggish than mine is but that's to be expected.

So you put your stamp of approval on the 3 without cellular?

I'm not important so I don't need access to phone calls at all times of the day. Just would like to have some podcasts/songs playable from the watch instead of grabbing my phone every time I want to change songs during a workout. But I guess I won't be able to do that since there is no spotify app?

Unfortunatly, I don’t... like you, I am also very unimportant

How would those apple watches handle everyday use? Pressure washing, cutting grass, fishing, etc? Are they pretty durable?

Big time. In fact, I REALLY wanted the cellular version but now I can't picture a scenario I'd need it. Unless you're an outdoor runner or cyclist who would leave there phone and HAVE TO take an important call - just save the money and go non-cellular AND save yourself 10$ a month.

I really like my Apple Watch series 3. Battery life is VERY good (on par with the Samsung S3). Waterproofing has worked for me on my swims and showers with 0 hiccups. It's a good watch.
Definitely get the larger one though. The smaller one is just too small, unless you're a girl with really small wrists.

No I'm a large man.

Was going with the 42 regardless. I think I am going to pull the trigger on the 3 in silver. Will decide during lunch. Best buy by my apartment has them in stock. Saves me a few dollars on taxes.

Do you recommend a screen protector or anything?

It couldn't hurt. I don't have one and I work out daily at the gym. A couple 45s have bounced off of it and scraped up against it and I don't see any nicks or scratches visible to my eye.

I don't have a construction job or anything though so if you are out and a bit more rugged than my cozy cube job, I might recommend one.

I sit at a desk for 9 hours a day and work out for 1-2 hours. I'll probably go without a screen protector.

Ordered the series 3 and going pick it up after work. Thanks for convincing me to spend some money today.
