My 10 year old plasma has bit the dust. Price range is 1800 dollars. What do you guys suggest?

Man. Get an LG OLED 65. ( even if you have to stretch the budget a bit). Thank me later.

LG OLED B9

Don't need to splurge up for the C9. It's the same panel, with an upgraded CPU. My B9 is snappy as hell as it is. Looks amazing.

Thanks guys. How is the refresh rate? That was one of the things I loved about my plasma.

You can get an OLED around that price. I'd go that route since you are used to plasma.

Don't even worry about it. Do you worry about the refresh rate of the OLED screen in your phone? Right. I thought not.

Get a TCL 4 series and get you something else nice with your extra $1350.

Went and looked at the LG. It's been forever since I've looked at TVs. I'm probably gonna come back and by it in the morning. I'm a little behind on 4k technology, but is OLED different than LED? I play a lot of video games if that matters.

OLED can turn off each pixel. LED turns off a back light. With OLED you get true blacks.

Burn in seems to be a tiny risk. Best Buy Geek Squad covers burn in. Lots of reddit threads about people just getting their TVs replaced if there was burn in.

I got the five year plan just so I can 100% not give a crap about burn in.

Very different. Go to rtings.com and you can see how different TVs rate for gaming, movies, sports, etc.

TCL 6 series 65” ftw..

From costco if you have a membership there.
If not, it’s not much different from best buy or any other retailer. Only difference is the remote has voice control on the unit from costco. Otherwise identical panels. Highly recommended.

Don’t judge TVs by what you see on display models at Best Buy. They’re set to torch mode. Properly setup and in a room that isn’t awash with daylight OLED is beautiful. TigerWise loves the Samsung QLED and the man knows what he’s talking about so you might want to think about that as well.

Yeah they crank everything. I'm down to three: LG B9, Samsung QN65Q80R, and maybe a Vizo (cant remember the model number). I'm probably gonna wait a few days and see if prices drop. Also my tv now is a 59, and its gotta a decent sized bezel. Wondering if I should got with the 55 and save a few hundred dollars.

How is the TCL with sports?

That’s my biggest hang up so far is getting something with a good enough refresh rate. Most of my time is spent watching sports

Sony X900F

OLED has the best blacks but they can't get as bright as the others.

That makes a big difference when you start watching HDR, Dolby Vision, etc...
