Anyone ever wondered why all our teams, no matter the age group struggle with being pressed ?

Probably because we are terrible at developing technical players here.

We are getting destroyed on the break. And we have no defensive midfield.

We missed a lot of close chances.

What a ball, and we miss it.

We clearly have talent on this side. But if this is the best of the best that we have at this level, my goodness. A lot of sloppy play and "unforced errors" that have nothing to do with England.

I've often thought about this also. It seems that our players (generally) tend to not be fully comfortable with the ball at their feet. We struggle to maintain possession in what I would consider the most basic of situations. I don't tend to observe this issue from other sides that we face --- esp. those from the more prominent soccer nations.

Any thoughts on why this still is the case in 2017? It certainly can't be a lack of resources.

Have you been on this board at all in the last two weeks?

It’s coaching, coaching, coaching. From the ground up.

Sucks they are out but these England youth teams are fricking good.

Nothing to be ashamed about
