Refereeing in the last 10 min has been really bad. Couldn’t buy a card the 1st hour now he’s handing them out like candy

I wish the whole game could've been like these last 7'.

Was a bit flat the whole 2nd half to be honest.

Yeah that was bad.
I like the way Torreira plays too, but he went high.

I really, really hate to admit it: But a draw wasn't the worst result in the world today.

Hell no it wasn’t

Loss today we would’ve been finished imo. Arsenal’s easy remaining schedule and ManU’s resurgence could’ve easily taken us out

It would have been fine if his studs were not showing and connected at his knee

Arsenal fans nor NBC pundits know how offsides/pens work.

Clear pen to Kane. Doesn’t matter if he was offsides. Same thing happened to Schalke against City.

NBC also got wrong the Torreirra red inititially. Intent is irrelevant.

Just responded to you in the Arsenal thread.

I get what you're saying but I think since Kane is attempting play the ball before Mustafi actually hit him I think offside should've been called first.

Would like to see an official ruling however.

I think Torreira knew what he was doing. He left his boot high when there was no need to.

This is how it was explained in the City match. The player moving to play the ball, if he is fouled in that process then it is not offsides and the penalty stands.

Like you said, it seems a shite rule but we got fricked by it too. I don’t agree with it but we’ve seen it called twice this way now.

quote:

The second decision was also correctly made on the basis of the Laws of the Game (Law 11 – Offside) which stipulates: “if a player in an offside position is moving towards the ball with the intention of playing the ball and is fouled before playing or attempting to play the ball, or challenging an opponent for the ball, the foul is penalised as it has occurred before the offside offence”.
