Agreed, but twice today he's either turned it over, or almost turned it over in our defensive 1/3.

I was really nervous about this game all yesterday and this morning. With Man U, Chelsea, and Tottenham winning yesterday, I thought it would be the most Liverpool thing to drop points today.

I don’t think this is a squad we have been accustomed to seeing. We would have given up a goal late in the past. I really want Fabhino to grab the role in front of the back four as a towering figure. I think at that point the XI would be complete.

Yeah, but hey, we're showing we're back in the elite group of PL squads

I could not have been happier with our first match. I love seeing the quality on our bench. It just feels different, and that started at the back end of last year. We don’t feel so fragile with the likes of Keita, VVD and Allison around.

Yep, and if Gini or Fabinho lock into that #6 role, our spine will be really strong... Love the squad we've built, and think we really can compete for silverware this year

Having Shaqiri come on late and run at people is going to be badass.

Going to be a great season.

Great start today, though still a lot of room for improvement and to work out who is our best MF 3 is... I suspect a lot will play, but Keita will be the main stay..

Although he's been very good the past couple of seasons, I'm looking for a break out year from Mane... hopefully, WC levels.. just hope he signs the new deal...

Still cant help but think we needed a RCB, but like someone said earlier.. I hope Gomez takes this opportunity to claim the spot... I would be happy for that to happen...

I forgot to include Sturridge in my computation above, otherwise BOOM.

I watched it on tape-delay this morning (waiting on my son) and what can I say? About the only couple of things I can be picky about were a couple of bad passes there at the end by Robbo and Alisson and a couple of really poor crosses from the right by TAA.

The midfield was solid and dominated possession.

The forwards? Well, they are who they are.

The center-backs both played great.

Difficult to even pick a MotM, but Mane would obviously have the edge for it, I guess.

YNWA!

Gonna be hard to deny Milner minutes too, might be better to have him come off the bench as a utility super sub with his versatility though

Best goal celebration of the match goes to Jurgen Klopp:

don't see how you don't play Milner all the time when he has fitness.

For me its Fabinho and Gini rotating. Gini wasn't very sharp today, didn't do anything bad, just didn't do a lot of good.

Keita or Mane MOTM.

Robbo was fricking class.

Not really worried about TAA, he was sharp in buildup and had a really nice left footed cross, plus the free quick. Didn't have issues on D and will get his crosses in line.

He's one of the best crossers in the league from that side, he'll shake it off.

Two separate sets of eyes see two totally different things then, because I thought Gini played the #6 today superbly.

I would have given him an 8 out of 10, just a notch below Keita, Milly, and the forwards.

He looked pretty at home today, we'll see how it goes as we progress... I honestly would be just fine with VVD/Gomez as our starters with Lovren and Matip/Klavan as our back ups

TAA vs. Clyne - we'll see plenty of both this season. Not TAAs best game (I actually thought he played well other than overhitting several crosses) but he's much better than Clynn on offense, and has a tendency to lose track of the offensive players 2-3 times a game, plus the occasional bad game against a good attacker. Klopp will pick the best one for any given situation. But TAA is a future "star" and will play a ton this year.

Keita was incredible today. The number of times his passes unlocked and by-passed defenders was insane. He's going to be incredible to watch this year.

Midfield had pretty decent balance. Keita really brings something the others aren't great at.
