So apparently Gladbach and RB Leipzig have put in offers for Brewster. As a Gladbach fan, we need forwards since most of ours are aging.

Work out a loan and I'm in.

The problem is those are not loans - he hasn't signed a senior contract with us and is free to leave to a foreign club this summer.

I would much rather he sign a contract with us and take a loan year in Germany (or be available for senior duty with us). The problem is - I'm sure he looks at Woodburn and sees a total of like 30 minutes of senior football this year and realizes he may be better off getting minutes elsewhere.

was it really that dominant of a performance?

We put Lallana on and shored it up, but had we taken our chances (good lord Mane..) and kept attacking after the sub it would’ve been a blood bath. They didn’t have a sniff at goal.

Or look at TAA and see the 2,307 minutes he played. I know there was more of a need for TAA, but if Klopp truly rates Brewster like he claims he does, he needs to be one of the first subs off the bench across the front 3 - or loaned. No way we let that kind of talent leave at this stage in his development.

So apparently TAA is going to be named in England’s 24 man roster for the World Cup.

Good for him. He’s surpassed my expectations this year by a wide margin and if England sticks with the 3/5 man back line then he even could have a chance to get some time.

I admit I laughed at the thought of him permanently unseating Clyne at RB originally but there is a legitimate argument

With Gomez on the mend, having TAA and Clyne as our 1 and 2 RBs next season is fine with me... there should be plenty of PT for both.. Move Joe to CB permanently when back healthy..

Apparently, Can is travelling to Spain to train... his back must have been bad, for him not to get the call for Germany..

Above someone said our players (referencing the forwards) were selfish. I completely disagree. Yes, they make the wrong decision at times but I don’t think selfishness ever comes into play in a negative way. So I went searching stats.
Salah 10 assists
Firmino 7 assists
Mane 7 assists
Only one forward had more assists in the EPL.

You're talking about a guy who has never seen a player who can do anything right and has never seen an official that can do anything wrong.

I think you want forwards to be somewhat selfish and most of the great ones are by nature...

I also think its hard at times to know what a player sees when they have to make a spilt decision to shoot or pass... If that shot goes in, no one is criticizing Mane, other than possibly for not allowing Salah to break a record (which would be silly)..

I don't think it's a particular issue of concern with our forwards... though I can understand the frustration when it happens in real time..

I like the look for the most part of this potential starting 11 from joe.co.uk:

https://www.joe.co.uk/sport/liverpools-top-transfer-targets-179266

quote:

That guile may come from Keita and France international Nabil Fekir. The 24-year-old Lyon star [pictured below] is reportedly Liverpool's next big transfer ambition and he told France Football that he will assess his options once the Ligue 1 season is wrapped. He is said to be available for £62m and has already been compared to former Reds gem Philippe Coutinho.

Klopp seems set to shore up his back more over the summer too. Roma should have been done and dusted in their Champions League semi-final when Liverpool led 5-0 in the first leg but the Reds somehow managed to concede six goals and get through to Kiev 7-6 on aggregate.

Andy Robertson has locked down the left-back spot, Trent Alexander Arnold is not the finished product yet but has already impressed many observers while Virgil Van Dijk has proved worth the wait.

Liverpool have been linked to Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker all season but he looks set to remain with the Italians. The next best option is a solid goalkeeper that is surely set to move on from relegated Stoke City - Jack Butland. The England international would be arriving to take the No.1 spot but should not break the bank. His capture should see Simon Mignolet move on.

Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan are no-one's long-term solution to partner Van Dijk in the centre of the Reds defence. Harry Maguire has been linked to the club but Liverpool are said to be monitoring the Stefan De Vrij situation. The Dutch defender seems certain to leave Lazio but Liverpool could pip Inter Milan to get him in beside his fellow Dutchman in the Liverpool back four.

My only reservation is Butland. I think he's a good GK, but is he an upgrade on Karius? I've seen rumors and reports of a fee anywhere from 40M to 70M for him and even the low-end of that range is ridiculous unless Klopp truly thinks he's the GK that takes us to the next level. From what I've seen, I don't think he's that.

Karius > Butland IMO

And still think Clyne would get the nod over Trent just because of how dependable he is defensively. If the additions of Keita and another CB mean we could provide better cover for TAA then I’m all about it since he is obviously way more of a threat going forward

Yeah, Clyne is still young and with multiple international caps. If his back is now at 100% health and stays there, then he's an asset you'd have a difficult time ignoring at RB. SO solid defensively.

There is no way we start with Hendo protecting the back. We are going to give a serious go at a playmaker type like Jorginho or a destroyer like Ndidi. And if we are taking Butland than I would just keep Karius, I like the idea of going big (Allison) or going to Donnarumma as the future. I think our ambitions are going to be big this summer with a short list that JK likes or we roll with what we got and some kids get a shot. And I have to say it but don’t count my boy Ox out. I know he’s out for a bit but that kid has a serious future with this club. He and VVD appear to have our club in their veins. What I like about Klopp is that he knows what he wants and will not settle for a shite contract just to sign a player. It bodes well for the future of the club but also reflects that he is the most secure manager in England in terms of his employment.

I'd take Butland if the price is right, but I think it would be more as competition/back up for Karius... Karius is the #1.. especially, if he can get back to pre-injury level performances..

De Vrij is going to Inter Milan, thats been done for a while now... Theres even a big debate on if Lazio should start him today for the winner take all UCL match against Inter. And one small aggravation... if De Vrij was coming, he'd be the RCB not the LCB

TAA/Clyne will be 1a and 1b... both will get plenty of games IMO

As far as a Hendo replacement...If we get Fekir, I dont think you can go with a DLP (Jorginho)... That would leave us pretty exposed through the middle... We'd need a Ddidi/Diawara type...

No sir, not me. I was in favor of buying him from minute one and I'm a fan.

Unfortunately, it looks like he's going to be out at least until after the Christmas fixture list and into the New Year. Hopefully his knee will be back 100% after all of that.

I know about you bb, you’ve been with me since day one with Ox. I’m sorry but still not sold on Karius, I would back a big signing at GK to truly solidly our back. It looks likes Fekir is ours, along with Keita, Ox, Lallana (fingers crossed for health) and maybe we have enough playmaking in the middle. I think our biggest need by far is a partner for VVD. The next is someone to protect our back four and Im with whoever said with Fekir we go for a destroyer like Ndidi, would love that signing. We are so close to being a really complete squad that I just want to get that spine stronger.
