Okay, in actually going read the laws of the game, what part of the law makes you think it shouldn't be offsides? I'm not trolling, I'm legitimately curious, because how I'm reading it, it definitely should have been flagged

In watching it again, I think you could argue this one happens too, and before Lovren's touch... Obviously it's debatable, but I think Kane was actively involved in the play when the ball is played and should have been flagged

An example of this would be when there is a cross into an area with a player in an offside position, and the player attempts to direct the ball on goal, and it freezes the keeper. I don't think it applies here.

It's just how refs are told to interpret it. If the defender is going to try to cut off that pass, he better get it cleanly.

Like I said it's debatable, but really irrelevant now considering how the pen turned out...

Eagles win made that bull shite earlier slightly more tolerable. After Astros and Eagles the last four months, I guess I better start getting ready for big ears #6!

I'm not even sure I'd really know how to react honestly... Liverpool have basically become the team I support the strongest outside of LSU basketball (who aren't winning shite this year). You never know, maybe they do go on some crazy run

Now they were right in the end I guess, but don't think a ref should ever say "I have no idea"

It happens. A lot. You also have to be honest with the guys you're working with.

It's still not good even if honest, and it's especially bad in this case because he should have had a clear view of it

If I would have posted yesterday I would have been banned.

@#$@#$3 this @#$@#. Screwed twice by the linesman in the last five minutes of a huge top four battle. His fist pump after a PK awarded. @#$# that @#$@#.

Karius best game at 'Pool with multiple saves and good plays - wish he would have caught the cross though as it didn't look too hard, but one Liverpool player wiffed on chipping it off its course to Wanyama and because he wiffed another was caught flatfooted as Wanyama burst onto the ball. Plus Wanywama couldn't hit that 1 out of a 100 times like that. Just @#$# bad luck. We now have Jagielka and Wanyama's goals of their careers.

I am concerned about how poor we looked in the second half. They shifted formation and it took us 30 minutes to get any kind foothold in the half. Our energy was also definitely off.

But I also blame part of this on us missing some first half chances. I think Mane is struggling on the left. He doesn't look comfortable making decisions and I'm having a hard time thinking of many times he's made the correct read on the break out there.

Interesting, I thought Lovren played fairly well, absent a few things like whiffing on the Kane PK. I wonder if him on the right with VVD on the left may end up the first pair? They were put under a LOT of pressure in the second half and seemed to do well. IMO, Lovren looked much better than Matip has looked at any point with VVD.

You should have a clear view, until 2 guys run between you and the ball and screen you for a second.

Just saying it happens more than you would think.

Tottenham is a damn good team. Not a whole lot to see here, they were going to shift and start controlling the ball some.

Lovren has always preferred playing on the right. I think VvD will be huge for him. Not only cause he can play on the left but he's vocal and confident. Kind of what Lovren needs.

I'm sick to my stomach at the officiating, but I can live with the result. Had we lost the game I'd be up in arms.

Onward and upward.

For sure. And Spurs have Arsenal and Man U back to back.

Karma should catch up but would have been huge to steal that win.

Read earlier that Firmino is being investigated for allegedly using a racist slur in the merseyside derby directed at Mason Holgate. The S*n references the 8 game ban for Suárez in the Evra incident, which is typical clickbait from them, but if we lose him for any stretch of games we are proper fricked

Looks like that was filmed with a loaded baked potato.

Seeing a side featuring Lallana and Ings trailing at the half to Tottenham’s U23s gives me the warm and fuzzies about our attacking depth.
