Robbo off injured today.

I watched a few different slow-mo angles of his injury...it looks bad bad. Fingers crossed, but I don't see how he won't be out a few months, if not longer.

That may force our hand this window as well...

Beck looked pretty good after replacing Robbo yesterday...

Elliot looked really good, too... I was happy to see him in the midfield role yesterday...

I know I'm getting my hopes up again, but Keita also has looked good... if he can just stay fit...

Finally, so good to see VVD back on the pitch... and Mane looks really sharp again..

Getting ready to watch the Osasuna match now...

Robbo just posted to IG he has some ligament damage but nothing too serious. Sounds like he’ll be missing some time for sure.

So, far... Good to see Joe back...

Bobby has looked sharp (2 goals).. Taki, too (1 goal)..

Impressed with Tsimikas... looked out of his depth a bit last year...

Looks like best case scenario for how bad it looked live for Robbo. Probably misses 2-3 games

After the pre-season, assuming everyone stays fit... I think current squad is good enough to challenge for the title... Bobby and Mane look ready to go...

Really hoping Naby is our Gini replacement... After re-thinking it, in the past I have wanted a more creative MFer... I honestly, would love that role to go to Elliott now... If we're buying a MFer, I'd prefer a young backup to Fab...

Ideally, we sell Origi and Shaqiri and bring in one more versatile attacker.. the only thing that still worries me is Mane/Salah for AFCON...

It's weird having no CBs last year to having 4 CBs capable of being in the first 11... I think Konate/Matip are strong enough to not rush back VVD and Joe.. plus Rhys and Nat!

Looking forward to the new season

Thanks for the kiss of death.

Agree with you though - if healthy, the defense will be great.

MF - you lose Gini but I think Jones continues to improve. If we can get some games from Naby we'll have a great balance and options to turn to. Elliot has had great moments this pre-season, so I'm hoping he can continue to develop.

FWD is my question mark - Jota has had a slew of multi-week injury issues. Bobbie has looked good this preseason but has really struggled for goals for almost two years now. Mane was off last year. An injury up front and these guys may run themselves into the ground. Elliot could play up there, maybe Ox..but I'm not sure we have any like replacements beyond those four.

I'm expecting a big season out of Mane and while I doubt he'll be a big scorer, I think Bobby still has a lot left to give..

Minamino looked pretty good yesterday.... I had kind of written him off, but he can play a role... Someone pointed out that Covid happened right after he got here... new country/club/language and the time it usually takes to bed in new players with Klopp.. plus no real pre-season last summer... I guess all that adds up and can explain why he was loaned.. I kinda figured no way back for him..

We will either get someone else in or we'll still be relying on Origi/Shaqiri for depth again... I dont mind Shaq in that role, Origi just needs to move on.. would benefit all involved..

Curtis Jones won’t be available this weekend due to a concussion. Will be back to training Sunday or Monday.

It’s so nice to be back at a place where the best players in the world want to stay with us

So fricking frustrating.

Hyping up Harvey Elliott and the re-upped contracts in a full media blitz trying to dull the pain for the fans.

Why do we refuse to become a top 3 club in world football? Signing an Mbappe or even Kane would send us into the fricking stratosphere.

I get the money dilemma, but if we’d let go of Shaqiri for slightly cheaper and maybe Origi we could take care of the foreign signings problem and bring in retarded Jersey sales.

I mean, that was a given, but what is their motivation? Don’t understand how you are sitting on a gold mine but refuse to actually mine it…

Now, if we sign Mbappe in January for this summer, or this next summer in general, I will be forced to edit this post to praise our FSG overlords.

I wouldn't call them cheap, but they aren't really going to dip into their own pockets... this been proven time and again... it's definitely a business to them and we're going off a season with basically no match day income...

All that said, we still have a fairly large squad and wage bill... we need to get rid of some players and they've also shown they won't just buy yo buy, the right player needs to be available...

I'd be very happy and satisfied with one more forward, but unless the former happens... I dont believe it will happen this summer.. The Doku talk would be ideal...

Anyway, it all starts in the today... pretty much what I expected, though I'd love to have seen Fab in MF... I honestly dont know what Norwich still has from their last time in the league..

edit: Actually, I didnt think we'd throw VVD in from the start... I was thinking maybe some minutes here and there until the int'l break and then bring him back into the 11
