Who do you think Inter offers if Javier and Dirk are wanted in a package deal?
I could give a baker's frick what Mascherano wants. He's comes off as such a whiney little bitch. Good rittance.

I think Dirk is the most underrated player on the planet. Only Tevez and Bradley have his work rate. If I was a mangaer Kuyt would have a spot on my team always. He does the dirty work and was actually Holland's best player during the WC.

More midfielders.....are we ever going to get a true left back? I'm not a huge fan of Muntari anyway. 6 goals in 54 something apps isn't too stellar. Although I'm not sure how Inter utilized him.

Well, we have fabio aurelio back at LB...the good news, it didnt cost us anything and means we only need to buy one LB now...
If he stays fit, he is good...

I think El Nino will stay; however, it definitely would not be the end of the world if we sold him. He is a key member of the squad. If he could stay fit, he could lead the Reds to the promised land.
If we do sell him, especially to Chelsea, I will be looking for that to bite us in the arse.

Sully Muntari for Mascherano is a solid move. Muntari can offer something different defensively while also being able to complete a forward pass, something which Mascherano wasn't really great at.

I disagree. While Kuyt looked phenomenal during the WC, he looked less than stellar during the season. Of course you have to take that with a grain of salt since the entire team looked sub-par the entire season.
Towards the end of the season he went on a huge cold streak. I think he went like the last 14 EPL games without a goal.

If all Kuyt offered were goals, he definitely wouldn't be playing. Kuyt offers so much defensive discipline, as well as the workrate of two players that his inclusion in the XI is pretty much a must. Kuyt on the right side is a must if Glen Johnson is to get forward.

Agreed. But the point I was making is that he isn't the most underrated player in the world.
Fact of the matter is that when a club is missing one of the best strikers in the world, they need someone to step up and take his place. AKA the forwards have to step it up and put more balls into the back of the net. Which frankly none of our forwards did. Thus my complaint with Kuyt.
No doubt the guy is good, I just don't think he is as underrated as people think he is.

Probably not, but he performs a thankless job quite well so it's not that surprising.
'Pool should have switched from the 4-2-3-1 when Alonso left, as the spacing issues in midfield contributed to the strikers being completely isolated for long stretches of the game. Also pairing Mascherano and Lucas at the same time led to issues with retaining possession and playing appropriate forward balls, while also leading to excessive fouling. Kuyt has never been a striker to lead the line, he's basically a trailing player/wing player that gets chances from combo play and work rate. Any moron could see that, except for Rafa.

What I meant to say was that a formation change would have been more appropriate than playing Kuyt or N'Gog or Voronin in the lone striker role. I don't recall if Kuyt ever played there though.

Best part is Hicks and Gillette: a) have basically no say in the deal, b) will make little to no profit.
