Werner may have been a bit fatigued towards the end. Have several uncharacteristically bad touches late in the match.

We didn't create any threatening shots on goal, but a least there were no goals conceded.

Is there a spot for Olivier on this team? He’s twice the striker Tammy is. He should spell Timo.

Makes you wonder with Timo playing primarily as a single striker. Same issue with Tammy. Can't imagine that either will be satisfied with being a regular 80' sub.

And in other news, Morata scores today for Juve. :-/

Unfortunately I’m starting to believe that. Frank has the pull to bring talent here but doesn’t know what to do with it.

Frank has one season of management at the top level. He did okay in the Championhip. He did okay last year in the Premier League given the circumstances, but that was with no pressure whatsoever to achieve anything. It's hard to go from "Hey, do your best and try to get us 4th or 5th but no worries really" to managing legit star players with expectation of challenging for a title, making KO stages of the Champions League and probably winning a domestic cup considering our squad size.

If we were willing/able to be patient with Frank, I think he could maybe get their as a manager. But I really don't think as is that he is good enough for what he's being asked.

Well said. Expectations are much higher and he’s never managed this kind of talent. I really like Frank but his decisions are head-scratchers like what he’s doing with Pulisic right now, his affection for MM, his leaving CHO and Olivier out of matches like today. Blues seem like a deep squad and keeping everyone happy is going to be a chore. Timo has got to be fatigued after the last two matches, and maybe that means we’ll see Olivier vs Devils this weekend.

Is there anyone who still thinks people are overreacting to the mount love fest?

Puli swapped over to the left side at the start of the second half and it was our most dangerous 10 minutes, then went back over to the right. By the time ziyech came on it was clear timo and puli were gassed a bit and the bite of the speed was numbed. I don’t really see the point in wasting the energy for 60 minutes of such a direct and aggressive player such as pulisic just so mount can find a spot.

Not a Chelsea fan, so I was legitimately curious if there was a reason. I watch the majority of their games and it seemed to make no sense to me. I guess I’m not alone

Yeah I basically root for Chelsea to lose since I’m an arsenal fan but I watch the games for Pulisic and I legit want to punch a wall seeing Frank start him on the right. I am also frustrated by your defense so I can imagine how actual Chelsea fans must feel

Essentially the same squad with Sarri wasn't great defensively, but it also wasn't objectively terrible like last year. This year, Lampard has better defenders, a new GK, and his young guys are a year older. Also, Kante hasn't been injured yet. So he's got no excuse to be this poor defensively again this year.

I just fear he's in way over his head. You're obviously not going to turn down Chelsea when they come calling, especially as a club legend. However, he could've really used 3 or 4 years managing before he made this jump.

Another clean sheet for Mendy. He is really good. D was a little leaky today but Mendy bailed them out. Not much offensively and that’s two straight scoreless matches and that’s concerning. Just six shots on goal. That said, picking up a point at Old Trafford is a good result.

I don't know what you're talking about. Defense was great today. Their only chances were from outside the box and a Cavani backwards flick from outside the post. Rashford going through on goal in the first half was Jorginho taking a terrible touch and giving the ball away just inside his own half.

Good not great. Still plenty of work to do but it’s encouraging.

Still don’t understand why Frank continues to play Tammy. He literally does nothing for this team. Giroud is so much better and needs minutes.

Frank’s an idiot, Giroud should leave in the winter window

Tammy needs to sit the pine. Giroud would be terrific working off CP, Kai, and Werner. Stylistically, he complements their speed and provides some strength that Tammy just doesn’t offer.

Mendy looks like a great signing. Kepa doesn’t make the saves he did yesterday.

If Blues fail to score today, there are serious issues up front. Need Giroud to play a lot of minutes today along with Ziyech. This Russian team shouldn’t be able to stay on the field with Chelsea but Russian refs are notorious homers. That said, Blues 4-0.

He should have started Giroud and given Werner a rest. He’s going to run Werner into the ground

Just as long as he doesn’t give those minutes to Tammy. He has been awful. A statue.

Ziyech with his 1st start.

Giroud will enter in the 70' and score on a header.
