Not only is this team is broken, it's hard to pinpoint exactly what can fix it. Which makes it worse.
So many crosses straight to the GK. And Pulisic was not good today.
Discombobulated is the word that comes to mind. Not much of an identity at the moment and kinda at a cross roads. Finding a little backbone wouldn’t hurt either.
Pulisic was ok. He missed a few in the first half, but at least he created those chances with good play. The ability is clearly there just rough finishing currently.

How long is Ziyech out, we seem to play much better with him.

It seems like midfield is the biggest issue the last couple games. They aren’t controlling it like they do when they’re at their best. They’re getting sucked into scrappy play by the opposition, but maybe that’s because the opposition have been getting after the midfield instead of just conceding it like a lot of teams do?

I thought he was fine. Had good defensive work and seemed like the only person making things happen, unless Mount hit a through ball or something.

We haven't had midfield balance since Conte left and that Matic/Kante pairing dissolved.

what is frustrating is only pulisic seems to consistently put pressure on the defense

Exactly. Like Hazard- he’s attacking and everyone else watches. Maybe when Hakim gets healthy they’ll have someone else who can do that. Blues won 4/5 EPL games he started. Need him back badly.

Most of my focus is on Chelsea so maybe other teams are the same, but it seems shocking to me how often our guys are hurt and not able to play. Is it like that everywhere?

Is it really that mind-blowing how the new signings that play well are players that are never asked do do something other than what they are the best at? Ziyech was never moved outside of the right wing, Chilwell and T.Silva obviously only play their natural positions.
But then people are surprised that Timo and Kai have weak stats, I mean even Ziyech had a bad game at least once and he only played in his strongest position, why do we expect new players to perform well when we don't use them correctly?
It's the manager's job to use his players in the best way where their best abilities will come into play, it's the manager's job to provide for the best possible ways so that they perform. Last season Lampard blamed the players for not being clinical enough and it's true we missed a lot of chances but he's not doing any favors to anyone by demanding that Werner simply figures it out on the wing and changes his player-profile in a matter of a few months, that's taking a big risk and a big leap of faith and of course it hasn't paid out!
this guy pretty much nails it at the shedend

Thomas Tuchel is in line to succeed under pressure Frank Lampard at Chelsea, according to Bild in Germany.
Well, now there a name floating out there. Interesting.

Diego now a free agent after Athleti let him go...worth the “should we”?

damn, lets get the band back together

He should come in just to toughen our team up. You go down 3-0 to West Brom and Diego is going to fight someone.

Frank should come back as player/manager like Pete Rose. He probably thinks he’s better than half the side anyway.
Posted on 12/30/20 at 11:33 am to In The Know
He probably is better than half the squad. Before Mendy I honestly wanted Cech to play. I'd take JT right now over Christensen too.

Announce Frank fired at halftime
Posted on 1/3/21 at 10:56 am to jackwoods4
Done with this until Frank is gone. Total horse shite. Disjointed mess. Lots of good individuals but crappy team. Need to move on now because the season is finished.
Posted on 1/3/21 at 10:59 am to In The Know
every match new formation, new lineup, new philosophy, same disjointed mismatched shite
tired of seeing Frank throwing spaghetti against the wall, feel like he has January and he is gone before they return to CL
