Chelsea to sign Philippe Coutinho and Luca Waldschmidt? I'd really like Raul Jiminez but not sure which two of the three would be best.

phil would be a great loan signing on a trial. dont know Luca, but that report smells like bs. Jiminez would be great but i dont think he moves. wolves have money, dont need to sell, and he prefers a move to Spain, from something i read a while back, which could also be bs.

Frick Coutinho, I don't need to watch him flail around worthless for 10 games to wait on one of his two or three times a season wonder goal that makes everybody thinks he's good.

We're not even trying to be good anymore.

I am also in the hard pass boat on those guys, especially since we have Ziyech coming in. This squad needs an elite CB and a new LB badly. Then I would say look for another good striker. Who knows what the transfer market will look like this summer though.

sounds like the perfect willian replacement.

i just dont see the downside if its a loan/option deal. we'll have pulisic, cho, and ziyech as attacking players and def could use another body. if Phil gets back to his best, would push the others for minutes, if not, hes a solid rotation/cup game option with little investment.

with sancho looking less likely and boga probably looking for a guaranteed starting spot, id rather get something on the cheap there and invest in some defenders and another striker.

Chelsea exercised the extension clause in Giroud's contract. I think Blues should've let him walk. Get some new blood in here.

its smart. this way, Giroud is at worst a safety net in case we whiff on all ST targets in the summer. we also get to sell him if need be, instead of losing for nothing.

We can’t afford two decent strikers in this market. Plus a LB, CB, and at least one new winger. Read somewhere that ziyech counts toward spending in this window also.

We need some inexpensive experience to hold us over for a couple of years. Giroud certainly does that, you can count on what he brings too. Would love for willian to get his head out of his arse and commit to giving us a few more windows to work as well. Aubameyang and Sandro are two immediate upgrades for us which also fit this bill.

I still think it’s strange that we got the ban repealed but did jack shite in the January window. I guess we couldn’t see covid coming though. That’s really changed this window for us a lot imo and for most teams probably. Market prices are still sky high though.

I was baffled by January as well, but didn’t that give Blues spending power in the summer that few other teams have?

Well yeah but then we shut down the global economy and things changed. I don’t think waiting until the summer was a bad idea, teams way overpay in January typically. It’s just now with what has happened in the interim we are more keenly feeling those effects in this window.
