So that's a handball if we didn't score rt? But not a card?

The keeper illegally kept out a goal.

Well not handball, but pass back. Just seems strange a keeper can essentially get a red card out of the box for handball, but not in it for stopping a pass back.

I was thinking this as well.
Definitely a handball.

Definitely would be a yellow, not totally sure if it crosses into denial of an obvious goal scoring opportunity though.

Of course we luck out and hold onto a win when nothing matters.

But I will say this, we havent gotten completely walloped this season. I know we are far off city, but ill take that as some sort of improvement.

Can we? The schedule sets up nicely for us to get into Europe.

Idk if it does. There are teams between us and European places with 2 games in hand

Chelsea definitely took it to Arsenal today, good bit of luck and fortune they didn't score.

I wasn't really a fan of the lineup, Holding as a fullback and 2 left footed center backs.

If Arteta puts ESR out wide I don't like it, kid is definitely much better central. I don't know what to think about Auba, solo man up top or out wide the guy just seems to have coasted this season. Got paid then didn't care.

Realistically I think the highest they can finish is 8th, but possibly ahead of Spurs.

Just when I am about to concede on the season they pull of a great win like this. Look Chelsea is clearly the better team but they gutted out that win. Maybe too little too late but :
Smith Rowe proved worthy of all the fan love he has been getting. (He and Teirney are my favorite players this year.)

We can still make it into Europe and finish ahead of the Cocks. I will take either of those outcomes as a win.

In 18 months under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal have now beaten Chelsea home and away (and in a cup final), United home and away, Spurs, Manchester City, Liverpool and Leicester (away).

The record against the top sides has certainly vastly improved.

Third best defensive record in the league this season as well (despite those individual errors). It does feel like the basis is there for better times, Arteta just needs to find a way of making the team better going forward. Still very tough to watch at times. Slow and laboured.
I didn't realize Arsenal had the 3rd best defensive record this season. Agree that the attack needs to improve drastically.

Leno gets some deserved criticism, but that dude is one hell of a shot stopper.

They just started off so shitty this year that they put themselves in a hole that was too deep to come out of.

Our attack looks like shite, but winning against the big sides is a really nice change. We haven’t done that in a while.

That 14 game run or whatever it was where we looked like shite was killer. Interestingly enough, ESR was involved in 20 of those PL games after Xmas, not to mention Odegaard. The inclusion of an attacking midfielder would probably have mitigated that early season slide and seem us challenging for top four places. Good on Arteta for finally adapting, but we on this homosexual board were calling for an inclusion of an AM for a long time. How was it so obvious to us but not Arteta?

As bad as this season has been, we are a 2-3 terrible red cards away from fighting for 5th spot. It may be a blessing to miss out of Europa and not have to play on Thursdays and then again on Sundays.
We need a new starting CM & RB, and a back up LB. If we sell Laca, I’d like for us go after a striker but regardless an attacking front of Auba, Pepe, Saka, Martinelli, and ESR is pretty solid. I would buy Odegaard but only for a good price. I don’t think he is worth anywhere near 45-50 million.
We also should be selling: Bellerin, Guendouzi, Nketiah, Reiss Nelson, AMN, Kola for sure and possibly Laca, Willock, Xhaka? There may be a decent squad overhaul this summer.
