For the time first time in my life I have reached out to my local representative, Tim Burchett here in Knoxville, and sent the following email. Unfortunately I've never done anything like this before, but even I realize that if we don't start pushing back in massive numbers and fast that we will have willingly just let the greatest country in the history of man be ruined from within. Maybe it's past the point of no return, but my conscious couldn't let me sit idle anymore without atleast trying to play a small part. It's obviously not much, but at least it's something.

"Mr. Burchett,

I hope you're doing well. I'm reaching out to you as a concerned citizen regarding the comments that Rep. Maxine Waters has recently made calling for violence in Minneapolis if a guilty verdict isn't issued in the on going trial. I'm providing direct quotes to what she said below.

California Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) flew to Minnesota this weekend, where she joined protesters in Brooklyn Center past curfew and urged them to 'get more confrontational' just one day after peaceful demonstrations devolved into violence.

"Maxine Waters is marching in Brooklyn Center tonight and told people to take to the streets if Chauvin is acquitted"

Shortly after her speech (one of several where she has called for violence over the last several years) there was a drive by done on National guard troops in the area. As an Army veteran I am absolutely enraged and disgusted. When are Republicans finally going to stand up and have a back bone against these elected officials that are pushing hate and a massive divide within this country? When are you guys going to stand up for your constituents and do what's right and go after them? They come after you constantly like dogs and yet we just tuck our tail and do nothing time after time. This country is falling apart rapidly and continues to be divided by propaganda networks and big tech yet we do ABSOLUTELY nothing about it. What has happened to the rule of law and letting due process play out? This country will be lost for good to the radical left and outside agitators if our leaders don't get tough and stand up when we need them the most. I'm asking you to not only be outspoken against this woman, but to push for impeachment immediately. The time of strong words with no follow through are over and the time for action has never been more needed. I implore you to do the right thing and hold these people accountable before things move past the point of no return. This country resembles a banana republic more and more by the day. Our founding fathers are rolling in their grave at what we've become.

Please act and send a message that this is not only unacceptable, but this should be punishable by loss of her political status. Words have consequences and the drive by today has already proven that. Had a Republican made those same statements it would be getting constant coverage on every single major media outlet in the country and replayed for weeks. We must act. Please be courageous and do what must be done. Thank you for your time."

Excellent. If he were a Democrat and waters a GOP he'd probably do something.

I pray that this man has what is needed to do what's right. I asked for a response back to my message and will update this thread once it comes in.

I urge every one of you reading this thread to do the same. I am not good at putting my thoughts into text, but feel free to use what I sent above and send it to your local representatives. Add or take away as much as you'd like. I ask that we all just do something.

There is no impeachment for members of Congress - that is only what they do to Article III judges (who are otherwise appointed for life) or certain executive branch officers.

The remedy for a rogue Congressional member is punishment by their caucus, loss of committee chairs/assignments, or being censured by their own body.

(Or their voters can vote them out. )

Lots of folks think Maxine is well past her expiration date and her rhetoric is irresponsible.
But she is not in the same league as Trump for irresponsible rhetoric and inciting violence.
Neither should hold public office.

I don't know why you are laughing at the man. His letter is legit even if the political terminology is not. Waters incited a riot smart arse. Roll on the floor and laugh about that.

I'm not laughing at the OP. I'm laughing at the traditional notion that Maxine Waters could be voted out. Sorry if that was unclear.

So this ^^^ is why congress can be as irresponsible and destructive as they want because they’re protected by arcane legal BS.

It's not "arcane" - it's the Constitution. The founders thought, "Well, if someone acts out in either chamber, their voters will reel them back in, if nothing else." They didn't realize how powerful incumbency would become. They also thought the whole - "What can 1 member of Congress do, acting alone?" They were more worried about judges appointed for life or the President with wide ranging executive powers, which is understandable.

What we have today is a rogue "party" for lack of a better term, the Democrat Party. And there is little that can be done - they have the "journalists"( ), public sector unions, public educators, academia, virtually every major city government, etc., all lined up to back whatever play they want to make. And, they've cracked the code on ever having to face angry "voters" again.

I don't know what to tell you folks except, "I'm sorry you're powerless and are just coming to that realization." I'm almost 15 years into that, myself. Welcome to the party.

I'm to the point in my life where I've got thick skin on issues that matter and am not bothered by my mistake with incorrect verbiage as it relates to politics. I don't pretend to be knowledgeable or involved in our political process (outside of voting) and all of the terminology that accompanies it. I can sleep well tonight knowing that I've attempted to do what I can to the best of my ability for the betterment of our country and for my children's future. I'll tuck that info that he provided above and use it in the future.

The message remains the same. That our elected officials hear our voices.

To reiterate, TRT - many, many folks are screaming for Mad Maxine's "impeachment". It's understandable. I'm not faulting you for wanting to do something.

As I outlined above. There is nothing to do. If you feel better having done it, great. God bless you for having the gumption to do something.

It's just pointless. And, I'm sorry.

It’s arcane because a lot of Americans don’t know there is no process like impeachment to remove suck arse congressional members from office. Maybe a censure is the most we could hope for because Marxist Maxine isn’t gonna be voted out of office.

You did nothing wrong. You are right to demand whatever action you believe is necessary. It's not your job to be a law expert, it's your job to hammer the dog piss out of these traitors in DC, and you did a fine job. Hat's off to you.

I'm not upset & no offense was taken. It's beyond a shame that we have pigeon holed ourselves like this with action that can or cannot be taken against poisonous actors who have infiltrated our systems. The only thing I know to do at this time is to speak up and encourage others to do the same.
