I don’t think they expect it to have an effect on the election at all, I think they’re honestly just trying to be able to say that Trump cheated after he wins because Biden was such a “sure thing”, so they can sow more hate and division

I think it's also an attempt to suppress Trump voters by demoralizing them into believing his reelection is a lost cause.

This is the sandbagging theory I have about it. I started seeing peeps of it all over the weekend and I told my wife "When you hear that Trump my get out of the race or anything like that, don't be discouraged. I think it's an intentional strategy."

The frick? They've had synchronized orders since November of 2016. This isn't a surprise at all.
Even recently, they all went into full pandemic mode in order to spread hysteria.. and then briefly went out of pandemic mode in order to lie and claim that riots are peaceful protests, and support them. Then they immediately went back to pandemic mode, in an attempt to prevent trump from speaking at rallies and to stop trump supporters from gathering.

There were reports a couple years ago that George Stephanopolous was coordinating morning briefings with the liberal media in which they would decide the daily talking points and there would be the same steady stream of anti Trump venomous reports on all networks and publications.
They spin everything Trump does or what they think he should have done but didn't to fit their narrative. Notice how when Trump makes a statement condemning something which the media agrees with, they quickly pivot to something he didn't state in his message, or they attack his delivery.
If he condemns something the left favors immediately they spring to defend it, disparage Trump, and if all else fails they stretch to find some very weak moral equivalency to justify the leftist actions. Note how when conservative groups assemble and march or rally in support of their cause and a they get attacked by ANTIFA the blame is immediately placed on the " far right ." The melee at Charlottesville is a prime example.
Yet we have rioting burning and looting of businesses, unprovoked violence from the left toward the police and anyone the left opposes and the media will continue to describe them as "mostly peaceful." Even with a building burning behind the reporter. These people are so deplorable and despicable.

you would think it would have the opposite effect. All trump voter will show up to the polls to make sure they vote and democrat voters, thinking it's in the bag may not brave coronavirus to get out and vote if Biden has already won.
