I'm pro-amnesty with the right incentive. Life is about compromise sometimes.

For example. If Dems offered to fully fund a wall and stipulated the following, I would likely sign on.

1. Amnesty only applies to those already here at signing of law. They would have to register within 90 days and provide evidence they were already here. If registered, they would no longer be subject to deportation.

2. Amnesty doesn't go into effect until AFTER 75% of the wall is completed.

3. Voting rights do not commence until 10 years after Amnesty is granted.

4. End birthright citizenship.

I'm all in and I friggin think that is a massive fricking compromise.

Liberals would melt over it though.

I look at it the other way. I would drop any concern over the wall if the Dems:

1. dropped birthright citizenship.

2. Dropped Drivers licenses for illegals

3. Approved photo voter ID laws nationwide.

4. Fast tracked deportations for those accused of a crime.

Tried that in 1986.

I’m fine with granting permanent legal residency to people already here so long as there’s a deadline for them to sign up, and then after that - we deport them, no matter when they got here, how they got here, or how old they were when they got here.

Citizenship and voting rights, is a hard no for me. Under any circumstances.

This is the most important aspect for the Dims, they want as many illegals as possible given the right to vote knowing damn well +90% will vote Dim.

I’ll come out say it.

I don’t want any amnesty.

I am one that will truly say, I don’t like immigrants from Mexico, C. America and Latin America.

I feel that they have mass produced to such a level that they are an infestation, like locusts, that have and will destroy America from within.

We have a large section of our populace that for some reason has empathy for the poor masses to our own detriment. They have decided to cling to an archaic poem in a statue erected over 200 years ago, bastardized the intent of naturalized citizen amendment, used the immigration laws and statutes to the detriment of American citizens, have created a beacon and calling signal to every poor miscreant in this world that the US will provide healthcare, handouts, food stamps, welfare just by coming here and existing.

So yes,I am strongly ANTI ANY IMMIGRATION OF ANY SOURCE.

Lock down the the country we have no, while having to deal with the shite we have going on here, try and correct those issues than in say 60-75 years we can reevaluate loosening up the immigration law.

Never in my life have i seen a populace so interested in destroying itself and the good thing we have going over here in this country.

I could probably live with something like that. Give everyone who registers in time a green card, and they can then choose to go the citizenship route if they want with what waiting comes with getting in at the back of the line. They get voting rights one naturalized as it works now.

I'd also tack on allowing more legal immigrants and many more work visas, but we boost ICE and border control. Make it easy enough to come, work, and live legally but then if you're doing it illegally, we'd have to assume it'd for nefarious reasons.

Let's call it the Big Wall, Big Gate compromise.

Wow I've seen several thought out compromises on here. I have not seen any regular poli board liberals step up to what they would want to see. Guess they have to wait to be told what to say??

If you drop birthright citizenship, won’t you be creating a large and constantly expanding population without citizenship? How many hundreds of generations would a family line have to go through to become citizens?

Without birthright citizenship, almost none of us would be citizens.

Trusting Tip O'Neil was a major blunder and largely responsible for where we are today.

Not really. In 86, he made a deal that granted amnesty IMMEDIATELY in return for hoped for things that never happened.

Good point. Obviously, those who registered would have children who were citizens upon completion of Amnesty deal. Which, honestly, should happen LONG before those children are adults.

Until then, the children would have the same status as the registered parents. Seems reasonable.

Sadly. There appears be literally NOTHING Democrats actually are willing to do on immigration.

Screw that. Why reward the law breakers while penalizing legit immigrants?

Plus, you think there is a rush to the border now, just wait until the 90 day clock starts ticking. Millions would flock here for free citizenship

Nope. Never. Been there, done that and now we're here again. Learn from history. 1986.

Did you even keep reading? I mean, I addressed that.

And look. I don't like it. But it ain't like we're going to get ALL of what we want. I think you offer what I said because you STILL won't get a single fricking Dem on board.

Basically, you show that there is literally NO compromise with them.

Jeebus Christ. You think someone as in to politics as I am isn't aware if 1986?

In 86 though, we gave the Dems shite in return for shite to happen LATER.

You'll note that my OP says, "you get shite, but you don't get it till we get our shite".
