Some kind of quick multiple choice survey to determine whether a voter is knowledgeable enough to vote for the candidates in each race on the ballot.

Very much so yes, but the question bank needs to be about 50 questions and it randomly generates 5 for you to answer.

Never.
Sooner or later it would be abused.
Can we just get voter ID though.

You should be able to summarize the duties of the offices you are voting for.

It's appalling that millions of votes are cast by people who aren't competent enough to hold a job.

However, the abuse of poll tests by Democrats during the Jim Crow era nixes this idea.

In theory yes. In practical application no.

It sounds great to require a minimal level of intelligence and involvement in order to vote, but it will be abused one way or the other.

I think that the structure of government (ie civics) should be taught in public school.

I guaran damn tee you that if we showed people an organizational chart of the original envisioned government and what it has morphed into, most would be disgusted

Nationwide voter ID is something I can get behind. Has a Dom presidential candidate ever won a state with voter ID? Just checked - Virginia went blue in 2016 with a law.

States with strict Voter ID laws:
Georgia
Indiana
Kansas
Mississippi
Tennessee
Virginia
Wisconsin
Arizona
North Dakota
Ohio

Kind of.

Only one question. Do you have proof of American citizenship?
Yes-vote.
No-arrested for attempted voter fraud, a felony and automatic deportation.

No. I don't believe that would be Constitutional.

Voter ID is less likely to come across as an infringement because anyone can get an ID. Not everyone would be able to pass such test, and thus would not be allowed to vote.

In concept, "yes."

But the logistics would be a nightmare, as well as potential abuses.

No. Every citizen as dumb a they may be has the right to vote.

I do 100% believe in voter ID and things of that sort.
