How many people are in prison solely for drug use? I realize if you look at the stats there are people in prison with that charge but I'd wager that most of them were arrested for another crime but had drugs in their possession so that charge was tacked on. I think the incarceration argument is bull shite.
I can go along with making it legal to consume drugs but selling them should carry a sharp penalty.
If it becomes legal to consume, it should become legal to sell.

You've already shown who you really are.

It is already legal to sell. Just look at Walgreens and Rite aid. They sell the best purest forms.

Because it would be a legal substance? because in a free country everybody can sell whatever their fancy can come up with?

Fine. Go ahead and sell it. Do you really think the incarceration rate will go down significantly if all drugs are legalized? It won't. Drugs lead to theft and murder. That's what most drug abusers are in jail for, not simply using drugs. The jails and the courts will be just as tied up. The addiction rate will go up and crime will go up yo feed those addictions.

You're making too much sense.

Who said anything about selling human beings? only you could come up with such a misleading question, it goes with your authoritarian personality!

Your lack of faith in humanity is disturbing!

You said "sell whatever their fancy can come up with."
Are you now changing your mind about your statement or are you just admitting you were wrong? Which is it?

I actually have a lot of faith in humanity. Although, I was just called a statist by an anarchists for supporting the death penalty. After I pointed out that the "people" are the ones that a sentence murderers to death, not the state, I was told that the "people" were too incompetent to make that decision.

drug addicts would remain drug addicts! but all the violence and crime associated with the drug trade would dissapear!!! would that not be awesome!

Yeah I agree. Probably a good portion of that is a product of the black market.

They will go down if we stop incarcerating people. That is the only thing that can reduce incarceration.

I don't think so. It is hard for me to make a direct correlation between the two concepts.
