Will trump torpedo his own SCOTUS candidate?

So probably the biggest risk for putting forth a SCOTUS justice is trump can't control his mouth.
He continually disparages people he picks for leadership positions.
Do you think some potentially suitable judges will decline bc they will be a target from the president?

This enables Republican Senators in tight races to oppose it and strengthen their position against their Dim opponents. Then once the Senate is securely retained, nominate his first choice. 38D chess.
