Is that where he finally gets to, for the first time, present evidence of mass election fraud ?

I seriously doubt there will be a Senate trial.

He will be long gone.

Yep. Because he has had no opportunity to do so yet. Definitely didn't have two months to figure it all out before now.

If the Democratic Senate chooses to have a trial, then yes, I am sure he will have an opportunity to present a defense. However, the articles of impeachment have nothing whatsoever to do with election fraud.

I'm sure they'll try to limit discussion of the election by claiming its outside the scope of his defense/the charge against him (inciting insurrection)

They need a 2/3 senate vote to convict. There is no way in hell they will get that and know it. So, there will be no push for a trial.
McConnell already said he isn't bringing them back before the inauguration (one day before) so he will not be in office. How do you impeach someone not it office.
This is more a congressional thing so if/when Trump runs again in 2024, they will point out that he was impeached in Congress 2x

He will be in office once the House impeaches him. I can promise you that if Senate Democrats feel like they can get enough Republicans that want to prevent Trump from holding office again, you can bet there will be a trial.
