Russia is not, nor has ever been, part of Western civilization. Now maybe we can talk about it as the standard-bearer of Christendom.

ETA: That is not to say that it hasn't been majorly influenced, or has influenced, by Western Civ, but I would regard them as their own standalone type of society.

Do you know that Russia has more Muslims than Western Europe? In 2050, they predict that there will be 70 million Muslims in Europe. 20 million of those will be in Russia. 5 of the top 8 countries where Russian immigrants come from are majority Muslim. Without Russia Europe moves from 10% Muslim by 2050 to 8%.

Barring another war which causes people to move, Russia will be far more Muslim than the rest of Europe, in terms of both population and percentage of population.

Conservative estimates put Islam at 10% of the Russian population. Some estimates put Russia at 15%. That's between 10-20 million Muslims. That puts the estimates of Russian Muslims at the top end of estimates of Islam in Germany, France, and England.

Probably not. The Russians themselves don't see things that way. Christendom maybe, but not Western Civilization.

It's too early to start taking blackpills and give up. Europeans are waking up in greater numbers than ever before. Brexit, in-roads by Jobbik in Hungary, the Freedom Party in Austria, AfD, Le Pen's campaign...all of these show a growing consciousness of the problem by rank and file Europeans. You could almost say that these are analogous to Trump's election, that their awakening parallels ours, but it does not. It is not "similar" because they aren't separate happenings, it's a single united, common event. We're in 1847. Our enemy is the same, our values are the same, our obstacles are the same, our fight must be united.

Hope is not yet lost in Europe. The internet has shrunk the Atlantic, we share similar platforms and more and more Europeans speak English. That means we can meme each other to victory.
