Will Drilling on the TMS in the Florida Parishes slow if JBE is successful

So JBE is after some big bucks from oil companies. Will his efforts slow or prevent further drilling in the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale areas of the Florida Parishes?
If he and his trial lawyers friends are successful in their money grab one has to think this will not help oil investment in the State.
Why does he want to hurt local landowners that have signed leases with oil land men?

His family probably owns land in the area where oil is being found. He's going to profit either way.

I am not sure his side of the family has much land anymore. I think his father (probably not personally but a corp he owned that had a small dairy) went bankrupt after leaving office--I am not sure.

No, most of it is further south but he is definitely profiting off of it.
He somehow got a huge track of swamp okayed to have a massive neighborhood built on it. They broke ground this week.
The casino they were trying to get put in Tangi was on his land.

Shale is kind of tough to make profitable these days, isn't it? The Permian, Eagle Ford, and Bakken basins are easier/shallower. TMS is more of a prospective play, if the prices get higher. Maybe the tech has changed things, but I remember it was balls to the wall at $120/b but then I haven't heard much about it in Louisiana since then.
There's even expansions expected in the GOM which are more lucrative than shale but the jobs are expected to remain steady because there's a big focus on making things less labor intensive. We're all competing with the Saudis who can pull oil out of the ground for next to nothing.
That means if oil prices go up they can bait US companies into investing in shale, then immediately flood the market and pull the rug out from under them.

I can say from first hand knowledge that the answer is yes. There’s a reason oil companies are NOT working in Louisiana like they were in the past. edwards is a true huge pile of horse shite. The business climate and jobs lost in Louisiana because of that no good bastard is further proof he needs to be gone!
He’s scum!

Crude oil production in Louisiana has declined every year since 2013. Absolutely nobody thought JBE would be governor back then.
Oil production in Louisiana declined EVERY year that Mike Foster was in office.

That's not how the oil business works. If a company drills good wells they keep doing it. If they drill bad wells they slow or stop the activity. Any increase or slowdown in the TMS depends on whether or not ultimately favorable results are established.

Unfortunately, there are local governments looking to slow oil and gas activity in Louisiana. That being said, TMS will likely not be working anything toon or ever. Austin Chalk is still being tested, but I don’t think that will be as wide spread either.
