Why would requiring each American to have a voter ID card only hamper minorities?
Posted by Bass Tiger on 3/30/21 at 3:03 pm211
I've listened to the Dims continuously pushback against a requirement for each qualified voter to present a national voter ID, they always say this requirement would disproportionately affect minorities and poor Americans.
Very simple question, how does requiring/verifying each legal voter have the appropriate ID to vote negatively affect anyone?
We're spending trillions of dollars mailing checks to millions of Americans, how hard would it be to implement a plan to mail out a Voter ID card to each American who's legal to vote?

Do you really need a answer on this?
It doesn't.
It doesn't.

It wouldn't.
Someone on here made a great point the other day...hopefully he'll take credit it for it here. But he essentially argued that if we grant that minorities somehow do not have ID's at some disproportionately high number (I disagree that's true), then wouldn't it make more sense to make THAT the goal? Wouldn't ensuring that minorities all have ID's, something that is practically essentially to all adult life in the US and elsewhere, be a goal for those looking to improve the lives of minority communities?
Given that they jump right past that achievable, and worthwhile goal, to suggesting that ID requirements are racist and openly push to make it so that no one needs one when voting makes you wonder if they might have an ulterior motive...

Most government entitlement programs require an ID. Poor people don't seem to have a problem producing a photo ID when they're applying for food stamps, medicaid, or section 8. Not sure why voting is different.....other than making it harder to cheat

When both the ACLU and the Federalist Society oppose the same thing, it is probably a REALLY bad idea.
Both oppose the National ID Card.
Requiring a photo ID of some sort to vote is entirely reasonable, but implementing a National ID Card for that purpose is a lot like using a sledgehammer to drive a wire-tack into sheetrock to hang a photo. Existing state IDs are quite adequate to the task.

I guess they assume it will be like driver's licenses, that can be "suspended" for you know, breaking the law.
I just made up a statistic that shows over 90% of black people have suspended licenses due to racist rules like "pay your speeding tickets" or "renew your license plate."

It wouldn't, but their playbook says to exploit race at every opportunity to achieve their sick goals to destroy America.

When you and Mickey get together, is one of you primarily the pitcher/catcher or do you take turns?

I think most here oppose a national ID law and that is not what is being pushed by the legislatures.
Do the Federalist Society disagree with having an ID to vote? I dont think so. Do they oppose a National ID? I'm assuming yes. This is 2 totally diff topics.
The state legislatures are requiring an ID to vote. That is a good thing.

Voter ID doesn't hamper minorities voting. It hampers Democrats from committing and getting away with voter fraud. They're just too dishonest to say it. They're scum.

Voter ID cards are racist.
Vaccine passports that require an ID aren't racist.

I would Back an ID law if they attached a plan to push out IDs.
It is kinda wild that this is so controversial when it’s been in place in LOuisiana as long as I’ve been voting

Existing state IDs are quite adequate to the task.
