seems like a waste of money to pay people that have not experienced an interruption in their income. Much rather see them focus on those that are directly affected.

Or, better yet, remove the payroll tax.

Its probably an attempt to enhance consumer confidence across the board..uninterrupted income or not.

The real question is. Are they cutting checks to welfare group also? I'm sure there is not going to be any disruption in the normal pay schedule.

Yes, lets punish those who can or must continue to work. Use their tax dollars to give money to others. Seems fair.

Fortunately I don’t need the money… And to some degree don’t feel great about scoring a tiny windfall while others are no longer receiving a check. Instead of sending everyone $1000, which is really not a lot of money, you could send those that have been laid off or furloughed $1500 or $2000.

I'm never against the government giving me my money back.

frick that, I'm out here punching a clock exposing myself. I deserve some of my tax dollars back as well. Those working through this deserve some type of bonus anyway.

Payroll tax is may be the biggest buck of BS in the tax code.

Government: we want people to work and be productive, but we will tax businesses for hiring people.

Because sending checks to everyone sells better in an election year.

If you don't like it, you can move. Trump is absolutely correct on this issue with the $2k a month for all American citizens.

I would believe the idea is to also stimulate the economy.

For example my household income hasnt changed. But we have decided that if we do (again if) that we would use it to refloor some of our house. Something that we werent planning on doing quite yet. So because of that money we would be buying things we normally wouldnt buy and giving people work that they wouldnt have had.

That has to be the overall idea right?

I don't think he has a problem with ALL Americans receiving a check. His problem is with those still working not getting a check.
