Why was it so easy for Trump to get the Sauds to support safe zones?

And why the hell didn't Obama attempt to do this? It is a better situation for every involved party by orders of magnitude and it took Trump 1 phone call when we've had a migrant crisis for years.

Mind bottling.

You know, what happens when your thoughts get all trapped up like in a bottle.

It's neither mind-boggling nor mind-bottling.

Obama and other Western leaders want to flood the West with these migrants. If they don't have safe spaces in or near their homelands, then the bleeding hearts and the Western leaders could easily make the case to have them brought in to Europe and the U.S. en masse.

It's actually pretty simple when you consider what Obama really is. Ask yourself in that region who does he protect and who does he hate. Who does he stick it to every chance he gets and who nomatter how vile their actions are does he just ignore and gloss over. He does these things out in the open and nobody seems to notice.

If there are Middle East safe zones the refugees can go back.

Spoiler: President Donald Trump just saved Europe.

No refugee is going back at the moment. It's going to be a decade long process at the minimum to repatriate.

That doesn't answer the question though, what is a safe zone?

I'm not underestimating anything. Look at the map of the area right now. ISIS still controls large portions of very important territory. There won't be a peace deal until they are dealt with, regardless of safe zones. It's nice that Trump worked this deal out with the KSA (of all people) but the facts on the ground remain.

It's a planned buffer zone that separates Syria from Turkey which would isolate an area for refugees fleeing Syria and be repatriated mostly from Turkey.

Trump needs to make Erdogan bend the knee now

I hope not. Those jobs were pretty damn expensive.
