The proposed budget deal violates every principle of conservatism. The deal allows unlimited borrowing until after the next election and eliminates the spending caps. Every conservative in America should respond in outrage: “Why did we even bother to elect Republicans.”

I always get a kick out of Rs and Ds arguing with each other. As a Libertarian, both parties are virtually identical: bigger gov’t, more fiscal irresponsibility, and less civil liberties. There are some subtle differences, but at the end of the day, they are the same.

It's all theater.

Trump submitted budgets calling for significant spending cuts and both sides of the aisle howled.

There isn't a single politician interested in spending less.

Pay no attention to what they say just watch what they do.

This is going to end very poorly. Politicians are destroying the dollar. We can do this for another few decades, maybe (i.e. Japan) but accomodative monetary and fiscal policy simaltaneously is going to create more incentives for bigger government, more spending and more control over our lives. The government is essentially micromanaging our economy and it's been poorly executed.

Since the previous recession, the growth rate in government debt issuances exceeded economic growth. They are eating our economy, and the spending will be such a burden when rates start to run away from the Fed becuase they have no credibility left. Good stuff, folks. Keep on keeping on because we have no control over our institutions anymore.

Real world.
When you don’t vote GOP and you put Democrats in charge of House, GOP in charge of Senate, and Trump President a compromise budget that pisses off everyone is as certain as death.

Now all politicians suck. And GOPe, RINOs, and Country Club Republicans are only Democrat Lites, but compare the Obama years with full DNC legislative control to Trump’s first 2 years with GOP control. Yes cucks gotta cuck, but socialist gotta socialism.

I agree with the sentiment, but how much worse is it when Dims are in charge? How much did the deficit increase when Obama was president and Dims controlled both houses in congress. Also, look what the socialists are proposing. Free health care for illegals, green new deal, forgiving student loans, free housing, free healthcare, etc.

The only way to solve this problem is to have some form of balanced budget or mandated spending limits.

Government spending is a euphemism for buying votes. Pork barrel politics knows no one political party.

Yeah, that's why they get along so well. That's why there's no polarization. That's why they always vote together on issues. Yep, you've discovered it.

I agree. I’d love to vote for a candidate that wants to get serious about reducing spending. Now tell me... what candidates out there are proposing serious cuts to Social Security and Medicare?

I agree, to a point. Remember last year, when Trump signed a bad budget deal, and angrily said he’d NEVER sign another bad budget bill like it. Well, he’s going to do it again.

We’ve got to get this budget under control.

Sadly, you’ll never win if you try to cut Boomer welfare.

In b4 SS isn’t welfare, because it totally is.

What you're describing is an attempt by the D.C. Elites to placate as many Americans as possible in order to maintain societal control. At some point the bills of a government created dependent society have to be paid and many of us realize the Feds "Magic Money" ain't gonna work.
