Why the Meme War is so Powerful

It directly combines several of the Rules for Radicals

RULE 3: “Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.”
(The Left Can't Meme)

RULE 5: “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”

RULE 6: “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.”

RULE 8: “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.”

I watched a recent video from Styxhexenhammer666 (other people here have brought him up, though not in a while that I've seen) which speaks to the power of memetic messaging, and contrasts how the current "Let's go Brandon" and "I did that" memes are grassroots compared to big media / tech / money and how they're effective in a way that bypasses some of the big tech controls.

Meanwhile, record numbers of people are moving to Florida. Memes are supposed to reflect reality, not some inaccurate fantasy

This is why I have a problem with the "conservatives" that claim that LGB and conspiracy theories make the right look bad. They don't understand the power of humor and being an individual. They care more about how they are perceived by the mainstream than anything else. They want to fight the left on the left's terms which is nothing but a fool's errand. You can't fight the establishment left by being establishment right when they are two sides of the same coin.

Or, maybe it is less effective than you think, and they keep convincing the hardest working,, Adderall infused folks on our team to not live up to their potential.

Absolutely. Anyone that was on the_donald back in the year leading up to the election saw the same thing happen. It was such an powerful organic movement that reddit had to literally change their algorithm because the front page was being completely dominated. Being on that sub the night of the election was a fricking riot and half.
