Why don't they just call off the Inauguration and do it privately

I don't get it why the show of military and force. What are they hiding?

They aren’t trying to hide anything, they’ve taken back control and aren’t afraid to deploy the military on American citizens

If I may add, "they" are poisonous, treasonous bastards. It isn't Christian to wish that they spend eternity in that place where there is an efficient central heating system, but that's where they're headed for their lies and usurpation of the country.

Two reasons I think.
First, is to give the impression that there is a real and imminent threat of Trump's hoards of white supremacists rioting and attacking DC.
Second, when nothing happens, they'll point to the show of force as what kept it at bay, which will give reason for why this type of force will be necessary from here on out.

Well if you need 25k armed soldiers at your inauguration to protect you from the people you probably weren't elected by the people.

It’s in keeping with their ideology. Every totalitarian regime uses giant military imposition to frighten the people they oppress. You’ll see this in China and North Korea presently and in the older Soviet Union and Nazi regimes. When Trump wants to celebrate the country‘s birthday he’s a dictator but when Biden wants to threaten it he’s a unifier. We’re in serious trouble folks.
