Why doesn’t Trump just put huge fines on employers who hire illegals...

...and landlords who rent to them?

THEN the problem would be solved.

I think he’s starting by punishing other countries before punishing Americans (directly, at least). There are a lot of ways to skin this cat.

I agree with this but it would have to be done by Congress.

If Trump tries it by executive order it will be blocked in a day.

Fining employers who hire illegals is important, but increasingly illegal border crossers are gimmedats looking for a handout.

I believe he announced this weeks ago along with E verify. He is doing about everything Congress/DC R's and D's promised they would do for 50 years

Because that would be an actual solution, which is exactly what noone in congress or business wants.

By what authority do employers and landlords confirm immigration status, before hiring or renting to an individual? Are these employers and landlords then exempt from discrimination laws in hiring and renting to certain individuals?

Solved? No. It would help tho. There are certain times where immigration is helpful as well. Ever tried to have your roof repaired with a contractor who doesn't hire Mexicans? I'm guessing not. There has to be a balance, however.

Or, why doesn’t Trump just make the DOJ enforce the immigration laws and secure the border?

You’re asking our great President to overlook the law enforcement failures of the government and not go after the illegal and instead focus on prosecuting the US citizen.

Maybe in 2002.

In 2019 we have 100k illegals a month entering the country with no intention of getting a job. They are coming here for the free shite from the government.

I spoke with a 20+ year BP agent the other day, he said 90% of the people crossing illegally right now are from Central America and were told (by their handlers? by the cartel guys transporting them?) that they just have to get into the country, turn themselves in, and the US will provide them with housing, food, healthcare, everything. They are not coming here for jobs.

The most impactful thing that would end this invasion is a change in our immigration laws, specifically related to asylum seekers.

That is on Congress unfortunately.

What tools does a private employer have to determine legality of potential employees?

Right now the Border Patrol is doing exactly what the law orders them to do.

Detain criminals, deport illegals, catch and release asylum seekers.

90% of the 100k/mo entering right now are claiming asylum.

Until the law is changed, there is nothing the Border Patrol can do. They legally have to let anyone in who claims asylum and sort it out later.

The globalists/puppet masters understand this and that is why they are funding and marketing these caravans in the third world shitholes.

It really is disgusting how they are yet again using poor, uneducated brown people as pawns to emotionally manipulate the masses and further their agenda

This 1000%

It's not the job of the private citizen to do the job that the government is established to do.

Well, for starters....Trump’s own companies would have been fined.

That does nothing to stop drugs, human trafficking, and gangs. And it puts the burden of enforcement on small business in the era of a rich fraudulent documents trade. Are we really going to solve this problem by allowing feds to ignore laws on the books while we jail American small business owners for getting fooled by fake docs?

E-Verify

Seems like there’s a lot of holes and issues with that currently. Who do we put the onus on? I’m cool with mandating its use and fining employers who fail to use or allow employees to work who don’t verify, though.

Houses in the US had shingles for a very long time before illegals started flooding the border in the mid 90s.
