Why does the left hold up Coretta Scott King as a hero?

She stood beside a whoremonger who left her side regularly for the white prostitutes he preferred to her. Definition of terrible abuse.

Being married to greatness makes you great and respected. See Melania.

I don't know about hero, but the people who took a stand for civil rights in that era deserve some level of respect. The nads it took to stand up and make yourself a target to a society that very literally viewed them as less than human and in many cases wanted to kill them is worthy of respect.

Hey, Columbus was no saint but he has a street somewhere, too. Who cares.

Respect the woman

But I knew the left was going to get all indignant and holier than thou since Chief Warren was trying to read King's letter. They love these storylines they can create. The Repubs told her to sit down because Warren was being a see you next Tuesday. It doesn't matter what she was reading. It could have been the lunch menu. They were going to tell her to sit down.

It's the same as with guys that shook Sinatra's hand. There's a code with those guys.

And there's a code and different set of rules of people who marched with Dr. King. They are beyond reproach in every aspect to this day.

See: Jackson, Jesse. Lewis, John.

You must know zip about the history of the civil rights fighters back then. She had one & only one thing going for her, she was married to Dr. King. She was never in the forefront of anything as Jackson & all the others were always hustling for position within the black activists. Then Dr. King was murdered & she became a super star. Remember all the cold blooded legal fights she & the family got into with each other over all the $$$$ tied to Dr. King? A bunch of sharks fighting among themselves. Dr. King has my respect. She does not.

MLK was a man in a time period where he wanted the same rights as whotes, but also wanted the same social status of men & women with respect to those rights.
