Funny how the church comes down hard on select sins but doesn't care about all the deviants who divorce for non-biblical reasons and then remarry and live a life of sin against God.

What would you have the church do other than peach and counsel against non-biblical divorce?

What Church are you talking about because the Catholic Church comes down pretty hard on people who get divorced and want to be Catholics in good standing.

Some inside info. Most divorces that are caused by adultery (a good reason for divorce) are actually filed as 'irreconcilable differences.'
The reason is convenience and/or negotiation.
The guilty party doesn't want that stuff in court.

A civil divorce is permissible but you can't remarry.

to answer the OP, bc half the congregation has been divorced and would quit showing up or paying.

Divorce is so commonplace, they’d not be able to fill churches without them.

Not sure why anyone would take advice from the world's largest organized pedophile ring.

Of course you can. You just need an annulment.

In the Bible: If you divorce your spouse, you are not free to remarry. If your spouse divorces you, you are not free to remarry. If your spouse or ex-spouse commits adultery you are free to remarry. If your ex-spouse remarries and conjugates the marriage, adultery has been committed and you are free to remarry. The Ex that commits adultery first allows the former spouse to enter into a biblically approved marriage. Selah.
