Democrats want PR's votes to count in Florida

Absolutely correct, but I think it's even more insidious than that.

The dems want statehood for PR -- 2 more dem senators, who would do their bidding.

Because we have a lot of influential people in NYC and DC that own billions in Puerto Rican bonds and want to make sure they get paid their high interest rates on these poorly rated bonds. Assistance from the U.S. tax payer via federal funds by any means necessary is needed. Bail out, natural disaster funding, etc. or other means works fine because cash is fungible.

This is why Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney were in favor of the original Puerto Rician bond bailout. Romney's buddies at Bain Capital owed a shite ton of Puerto Rican bonds and they wanted to ensure that Puerto Rico was able to pay. Yields on these bonds were as high as 11% a few years ago. Now they are around 6%.

Another reason for Puerto Rican attention from our politicians is to flood Florida with Democrat voters.

I saw where the governor of Mariana Islands wants Congress to act to eliminate birth-right citizenship. His islands are getting flooded with folks from Asia going there to give birth to American citizens.

Presumably because of closer proximity? Lower populations/economic relevance of other territories?

These seem to clearly be the biggest factors.

Also there are a lot of Puerto Ricans living on the US mainland. I think that has a lot to do with it as well, but it's likely a factor of the other two.

How many Guamians have you met?

Puerto Rico is the biggest of the colonies (at least that is what the fricked up UN considers them) and held the most recent election trying to become a state. Plus the liberal media does not want Guam to become a state because it had a republican governor up until last year. They do want to risk giving the GOP 2 more senators.

Because Puerto Rico is the one that would be mostly solidly dem.

It's the Chicago of the Caribbean. Extremely corrupt politicians and a crime infested place that's only looking to expand government.

Samoa
Interesting random fact: did you know that citizens of American Samoa are not American citizens like in all those other places you listed? They are just "American nationals".

After which you can stroll over to Duffy's Love Shack. Also Vessup Beach is a wonderful and underrated spot to snorkel if you swim East along the coast a bit. Just you, the fish, the turtles, the lobster, the conch, and the rays (with occasional nurse shark).

Ironically people born in some territories are not US citizens but US Nationals, without the full rights of citizens.
