It took me over three hours to get a tag for the old truck I bought out of state. All those important topics you listed in the OP will be serviced by the same fricking brain dead, uncaring clowns that work at the DMV. Why would anyone want that?

In most cases, the government is just the means to punish those whom they are jealous of. They dont care about policy and dont even attempt foresight.

Think about money . It’s something we need. In the hands of the individual the Leftist basically sees it as insufficiently virtuous. Only through the act of transfer to The State can it become virtuous. In my hands it’s a bad thing because I’m not virtuous enough, you see. I use it on “ selfish “ stuff . But when the man in the government suit takes it from me by coercive means, it magically becomes virtuous. It’s magical. It’s damn near The Miracle of Water to Wine.

More accurately it is progressivism. It is heavily influenced by 19th century European thinkers, mainly German who believed that government's purpose was to actively serve the people it governed.
The thinking was that as society grew and became more sophisticated and industrialized there was an overarching need for a central authority to address the needs. It manifested itself in the growth of the bureaucracy. Initially it dealt with a way to get ahead of the growing Labor Movement in western societies. Keep the proletariat placated to a certain extent while protecting the positions of the patrician class. As society moved from rural agricultural to a more urban industrial mode there were vast inequities that were uncovered. The progressive movement came about to address it. You see it in trade and economic policy at first but it evolves to social services. See Social Security in 19th century Germany and Bismarck. In the US it influences indirectly people like the Prairie Populist like William Jennings Bryan, but the biggest proponents of it were the Republicans of the late Gilded Age like Teddy Roosevelt followed by Woodrow Wilson.
The belief was that society needed to be more ordered and the Jeffersonian ideal was quaint and not feasible any longer in an industrial society. These guys are heavily influenced by thinkers like John Dewey especially on the education end which he believed was the key to a more ordered society. Really, it is a belief that took hold and has not left and by the end of WWII was the prevalent position in the west . Call it the Great Liberal Consensus. It has a lot to do with a certain trust in institutions.
Read Dewey and other Intellectuals of the second half of the 19th century. They influenced a lot. .

It’s very simple. Many leftists don’t believe in God, and because of this, they substitute the government for God.
And in other cases, they substitute the government for daddy.
Sometimes both.

Correct. The old liberals of the immediate post WWII period would today be characterized as Moderate Republicans. Guys like Moynihan and Henry Jackson and even JFK could not survive long in today's version of liberal progressivism....too conservative economically in the case of JFK. Too dependant on personal responsibility and being judgemental " defining deviancy down" in the case of Moynihan. And too much beholden to a strong no nonsense military like Scoop Jackson. Hell, even the 1970's and 80's Joe Biden would be characterized as a reactionary conservative by today's progressives.

Because government is a religion to them. They worship leftist politicians. That’s the entire answer.

I've long characterized him as the last good democrat.
But the political cabal today has coopted the name 'democrat' - not even the racist democrats were as bad as these modern imposters. In those days they had some historical momentum that nourished their racist belief system. Now, these modern democrats just just lie to their face every election cycle for their votes, and then work behind the scenes to keep their culture as dystopian as possible.

[quote]They're not liberals anymore, they're progressive leftists. A true liberal wouldn't believe in any of those you listed, any real liberals that are still out there have been silenced
Exactly. I hate how the term has been bastardized.
In response to the OP, there are two types of progressives - Those who seek to control others and those who seek to be controlled by others. The bridge between the two sides is dependency.

I've generally been of the belief that today's Liberal, who is young and egotistical, feel as if they are owed something from the negative circumstances life can present at times.
It's easy to blame the Govt. when it alleviates personal responsibility, and therefore they need the Govt. to right a wrong that is believed to be a product of a "system" that can't be controlled by their own free will. A wrong that has left them insecure, angry, with low self-esteem, jealous, and self-loathing. It's a big pity party for the most helpless and fragile of individuals.

If the government takes care of everything, then they have no responsibility. They can be free to live a carefree life and not worry about succeeding or achieving at anything. They don’t have to grow up and adult.

I hate how the language itself has been bastardized.
There was a time when the English language was a beautiful thing to behold = I loved it. Now, these dipsshit "intersectionalists" make it so convoluted now that it is hard to weed trhu the word salad.
I vowed at the beginning of the "political correctness' babyhood stage of this disaster that I would not play the game - I'll never use their manufactured terminology and I'll stay true to the language I learned from childhood. I never had any use for racist slurs or vulgarity, but I did tell jokes that would be frowned on today. Not even sorry for it either - it was never done with bad motives.
