Why do children of criminals have to change their lifestyles?

When a ponzi scheme gets busted, or a bank robber gets caught, don't their children suffer from having to adjust to a different lifestyle?
After all, all they have known is luxury and a life of ease, why should the actions of their parents in the past deprive them of what they have come to know and rely on?

Welfare is a different issue with its own problems and needs to be addressed separately. Also, you don't "deport" US citizens.
