Seems like a good way to make people panic. We won't notice anything in Louisiana besides higher gas prices.

Maybe JBE can have a change of heart and encourage his overlords to RE-OPEN the Keystone Pipeline

I am guessing it was so he doesn't have to follow certain laws. That is just a guess though.

I'm just wondering if all those ladies with bags of gasoline in their trunks have blown anything up or burned their houses to the ground.

I would say to keep companies from price gouging. This is usually what happens during hurricane recovery. JMO

Considering Louisiana’s budget woes, maybe he’s hoping the declaration will somehow trigger more federal money for the state.

If it was anyone but him, I would postulate that it is so rules on trucking can be relaxed and possibly open up some avenues for easing any perceived crisis...

Since it is him, you baws better bend the frick over and bite the pillow... shite's not gonna be pleasant...

a-hole democrat knows that emergency declaration is the first step in abusing power and lining up for more “free” money from the taxpayers.

Prevent gouging, as well as being a formality to allow waivers from transportation regs, etc, to facilitate more alternative means of deliveries (eg, trucks).

LA was tangentially affected because there are a small number of stations which are out of gas sue to this.

That being said, he likely did it because he sees federal money coming in because of it.
