So then why did Qatar give him another? Just for fun?
Link us to the deal. And the gift was to the US government. You really thought it was given to Trump? You’re an idiot. You think Trump would do something nefarious so he could use a different plane as AF1 for 3 years? Good lord.

Typical liberal projection.

They had one destroyer and were very limited in what they could do.
I will bet the Qatari's are just taking over the buildings that the Saudis were using when they did the same thing. They foot the bill and we train them. Its not really the same as something like our bases in Germany or Japan

Did they get a jet or a $5b golf deal? Can you link me to that?
The Obamas are only second to the Clintons in money made off the presidency.
Joe Biden’s crack head son served on the board of a corporation in the most corrupt country in the world.
Don’t believe me they are? Just ask the New York Times.

The article came later in the day, at which time I posted it because it was helpful to me and I thought it would be helpful to others who may have had similar concerns. Sheesh!
And, fyi, patronizing tone not needed. Save it for your offspring!

I know we hosted Japanese military in Alaska 2004 I think or 2005. The Boatswain smoked his cigar and bitched the entire time.

If you can’t bring yourself to admit what would happen if a Dem did the exact same thing then it’s really not projection at all.
In fact, it’s spot on.

Link the deal. So we can see if Dems did something similar. You’re confident they didn’t. You must have seen the deal.

It is needed because you showed lack of comprehension. Go ahead and roll your eyes.

Qatar's support for Hamas
Hosting leaders: Qatar has hosted Hamas's political bureau and senior leadership in its capital, Doha, since 2012.
Do you know why?

In 2011, U.S. President Barack Obama personally requested that Qatar, one of the U.S.'s most important Arab allies, provide a base for the Hamas leadership. At the time, the U.S. were seeking to establish communications with Hamas and believed that a Hamas office in Qatar would be easier to access than a Hamas bureau in Iran.

In 2012, Qatar purchased billions of dollars in military equipment from the United States through Foreign Military Sales (FMS), though this was not considered military aid, which typically refers to grants. Key acquisitions included Black Hawk, Seahawk, and Apache helicopters, as well as several advanced missile defense systems.

We aren't and this thread is a shite show. You are as ignorant as can be.

This is weird, but it's not unprecedented. The Germans have a training center in New Mexico, so it's been done before, and we certainly have ours all over the world, but, yeah, I'm not real sure about it.

Ridiculous ignorance.
Mountain Home AFB is a full up USAF base with a wing of US F-15Es. They’ve also trained the Singapore AF on their F-15SGs for many years.
The USAF at various bases has trained foreign Air Forces for many decades, such as German, Dutch, Iraqi, Omani pilots, crew, and maintainers.
Since the 70s the USAF has had a partnership with NATO to conduct initial and advanced jet pilot training at Sheppard AFB in Texas.
The Qatari training will be just another in a long line of international programs on USAF bases, many of which have been far, far larger.

Threads like these remind me of how many low information people are out there and how lazy they are.
Literally a 1 minute Google search would deliver clarity.

do you have any links to this happening in the past on US soil, and giving the foreign entity a base?
I see foreign sailors all the time in Pensacola. On my lone trip to NYC, there were foreign military personnel all over the city.
Based on the link, this seems more about enhancing US presence in Qatar than vice versa. OP needs to buy some Depends.

In 1990's JRTC at Fort Polk hosted a yearly training cycle that was made up of foreign military units/leaders. I forget what the exercise was called but remember it was filled with former Soviet block countries that ended in "stan."
They have foreign cadets from countries such as Turkey, Poland, Camaroon, Nigeria, et al who attend West Point for four years.
Foreign military academies send teams to compete in Sandhurst competition every year.

It’s not a stand alone military base. It is a new facility being built on an existing US Air Force base in Idaho. It’s for training Qatari pilots. Nothing new here.
