The whole point is that this arrangement was not clearly presented in the sources available to me and the wording made it sound like Qatar had just bought themselves a base in the US.

Blaming your hysterics on your low reading comprehension skills and ignorance of military terminology of Air Force Base and Facility on an Air Force Base...

interesting tactic.

Interestingly enough, there has been enough reaction to this announcement that it seems I'm not the only one who thought it was a strange arrangement. And, unlike you apparently, I am not privileged enough to have been trained in military lingo.

You may crawl back in your bunker now!

Wait. Wait. Wait.

Are you actually accepting responsibility for being wrong and overly emotional? I mean sure, you really slammed my nose hard with the bunker comment, but it almost sounded like you tried to almost apologize for your hysterics.

There is hope.

And for the record, I am in no bunker. However, I have been actually paying attention to how our military operates for over 45 years.

do you have any links to this happening in the past on US soil, and giving the foreign entity a base?

The US co-operates multiple bases in the US with several foreign militaries. This isn't new.

I have spent time in the Caoc at El Udeid back in the day

That's a bunker like facility.

I am apologizing for nothing, although I respect your deeper military knowledge. There are ways to educate without demeaning. And the headlines were certainly NOT clear as to what kind of presence the Qataris would have on our soil. I am quite familiar with the practice of training allied forces, including American women who were trained in Britain to transport planes from one base to another when the Brits were experiencing pilot shortages.

So you fell for the headline and ignored the text

It happens.

I was seeking information. As I told someone else, there are ways to educate without demeaning. I don't suffer from tds (as some responses implied) or hysterics (just because I'm one of the few women here) or any other extreme 'symptom.' I was (and in some ways still am) somewhat concerned at what the headlines were implying.

So then why did Qatar give him another? Just for fun?

Maybe don’t throw stones man. It’s clear you’ll repeat anything you’re told.

Nope. I would never do what I tell my students not to. But clarifications and details have come later in the day in most media.

I get it but that headline is just absolutely silly.

Singapore for years had the same setup at Luke AFB.

A building a hangar etc.

That shite was click bait level headline.

Because apparently I am not familiar enough with what 'facility' means in this context, who this 'facility' belongs to, how it's financed and by whom, what size allied presence it would host, etc, etc. And I will argue that those are very valid concerns.

We do host a lot of foreign nations in the US. Norfolk alone has hundreds of billeted personnel and if you are interested in seeing joint forces together, you can visit Hawaii during RIMPAC and see dozens of countries ships and sailors tied up at the piers.
From countries you would expect like Japan and some you wouldn't like China. We even form up soccer teams and play each other.

Glad to hear it! Although I'm certain those Chinese are spies, each and every one.

I do think it's crazy to say because a person is rich they can't be bribed. But i also think that had nothing to do with any of this. We will be training troops here whoever is president

No different that Singapore or a number of foreign military training in the States.

A squadron building

A hangar

A barracks

A classroom building.

Supported by Civil Engineering.

On a base like Luke AFB

Or say Ft Leonardwood for the Army.

In the other thread Shepard Afb in Wichita Falls Tx was brought up

In that case a large number of Arab maintenance students were embedded into USAF technical Schools.

So a class of 12 Avionics troop might have two Jordanian Air Force students.

This isn't a big deal

How about rather than ARGUE you first read. The article itself was clear on the subject.
