re: Why are Moronials such whiny losers that blame all of their failures on Boomers?

When boomers were born was America $30T in debt?
This is actually pretty funny. Do you not understand you just posted a little whine that your kids will be leveling against you? You weren't born when American was $30T in debt, and what's even funnier is you think Boomer's are why we're now $30T in debt. Do you not understand that our politics today and over the last 10-15 years have been decided by millennials + GenX more so than boomers?
quote:
These might be some of the reasons why millennials complain about the generation born on third who thinks they hit a triple.
And the irony is millenials don't realize they were born halfway between 3rd and home. Sure, boomers have had it much better/easier than their parents. And our parents had it better/easier than theirs. This trend didn't stop, you whiny economic illiterates.
quote:
urn around and mock the younger generations for the shite show you’ve created. Sad
I actually feel bad for you guys. Not because you have it worse than my generation, you don't - but holy frick, you guys are convinced you do. My kids (24, 27 and 30) do not have your whiny attitude, and they look forward to living a better/easier life than I had. Easy doesn't mean they won't have their challenges, and these challenges in some ways will be harder than mine - but they're smart/appreciative enough to know there is so much more that's better/easier today - in this country - than at any other time in its history.

quote:There's no doubt that everything is nicer now. But the fact remains one could purchase single family real estate - which then went on to be a spectacularly performing, tax advantaged asset which helped provide upward mobility for the kids. There's lots of Gen Y kids whose parents got fricked by their home purchase.
That’s a bit of a white-wash. You might have a home but it was a 1200 square foot 3/1 cinderblock construction and you ate bologna sandwiches. There’s no question that there are challenges now that are different, but the lower middle class didn’t have a car each, cell phone, 4 color TVs, etc back then.

Very odd how all the boomers in this thread are trying to convince everyone how tough they all had it
Nope. I've argued that boomers had it loads easier than their parents, and that our kids have it loads easier than us. Nobody has had it all that tough. That's a fact growing up and raising a family in America.
quote:
ncomes haven’t kept pace with the price of literally everything. This presents challenges. Every boomer in this thread keeps ignoring the posts that point this out. Weird.
I think one of the disconnects is a lack of understanding of economics.
And you're wrong. I addressed the inflation argument, but millennials ignored. Let's so how you respond -
Inflation in the 1970's (the decade) ran over 100%
Inflation for the decade we just finished was less than 20%.
Explain how your generation has it so hard.
And to be clear, I'm not arguing boomers had it so bad. We figured out how to persist through stagflation. No big deal. Now tell us how it is that you have it so bad in comparison.

quote:None of this changes what I said - as the concept of generations is blurry in the first place AND my comments certainly apply to the 70s and even really the 80s.
You speak about boomers and jobs in the 1960s.
Boomers are people born between 1946 and 1964.
A 1964 Boomer graduated HS in 1982, college in 1986.
What the hell does the job market and cost of living in the 1960s have to do with a Boomer that entered the work force in the mid 1980's?
The people that entered the post ww2 booming economy were born in the late 20's to early 30's.
The first Boomer didn't graduate HS until 1964 and college until 1968.
quote:This is true - and their boomer kids greatly benefited from the effects I mentioned.

The biggest difference between Moronials and all previous generations is that previous generations did whatever they had to do,and their expectaions of standard of living were much lower than Moronials.
Moronials don't want to do any kind of hard labor.
There are plenty of skilled trades where you can make six figures, but those jobs are beneath you.
Do you think that the generations before you all loved working the hard labor jobs that payed well?
Of course not, but they did what they had to do to earn a decent living.
You want 100k for a cake unskilled job that doesn't exist.
Your generation tends to live in fantasy land and constantly play the victim card.
It's pathetic.

Maybe you idiot boomers demanding your kids attend college when those little shits you raised clearly weren’t college material wasn’t the best strategy. You are the one that created the unrealistic expectations and now have created this millennial boogeyman to blame your failures on.

This^^^^^….lol! When I ask my daughter what’s your plan to get a job that pays enough where you’re not reliant on your parents…..she thinks I’m hassling her.
Than that is your failure as a parent.

You have stupid parents.

Wait.
How did parents force you poor millennials to go to college? Were you 15 when earned your degree?

Are you now denying the immense pressure parents put on children to attend college? That was a total fricking failure and like clockwork, you boomers deny your involvement and pivot to now saying those same kids don’t want to do hard labor
No shite. You told them their entire lives those jobs weren’t for them because they would be college educated.

You do realize you and 93and99 agree on more things than you disagree about?
That being said, this whole millennial/boomer nonsense has always been part of the larger plan to turn your parents into the state when their views are not part of the state’s indoctrination?

I’m just not used to adults blaming other adults for decisions they made as adults.
Are you a Leftist? I’m trying to understand your post about Leftists rolling over boomers.

Well, boomers did start the welfare state so they do hold much of the blame for the state of our country today.
