If they attended college they pursued a degree in engineering, science, medicine etc that would lead to a high paying career.
If they didn't go to college they worked real man jobs that paid more than minimum wage, jobs your pansy a$$ won't do.
And yet they still ran up debt and put several next generations in a mountain of debt.
Also, have you seen the savings rates of the Boomers? It pretty clear a shite ton didn't save anything for retirement. Good luck waiting on the Boomers wills. There is no inheritance for most other than a reverse mortgage.
Boomer lived in an America that they could make good money and they left their kids a shite sandwich.

It's actually pretty funny. I had no idea they were part of the victim class.

PHDs in grievance studies is not bound by political affiliations
They could coherently argue that bad policy leads to a situation where we compensate labor that is useless to society and the people with real jobs are getting shafted. But they’re not doing that.

You dumb millennials vote Democrat.
Boomers tend to vote Republican.
The same people you are bitching about, you are voting for.

Sounds like Welfare.
Welfare programs require 3rd parties to fund them. Medicare and SS require 3rd parties to fund them.
Nobody "paid into" these programs. That was a lie boomers accepted (and then promoted).
"Paying into" Medicare/SS is a political propaganda point on the level of "my body my choice". Just makes no sense with any sort of scrutiny other than political brainwashing.
Now you're babbling like an idiot. You really think anyone and or their spouse receiving SS didn't pay into it? It takes 40 quarters (credits) or 10 years minimum of paying 12% out of their paycheck to receive even a bare minimum SS payment at 65.
I'm GenX born in 67 and I've been paying SS out my checks since I went to work in the summer of 85. I expect to get those benefits no matter what people like you say.

No question that the boomers were a bunch of spoiled brats that were raised in a postwar time of prosperity and growth. Many lived a life of privilege and plenty wheren they did not learn self reliance and the fruits of hard labor. They in turn raised the next generation to be even more spoiled and disrespectful. Each generation has continued the downhill process until today we have a situation where in many cases their grandparents and great grandparents no longer want to acknowledge them let alone be proud of them.
Those of us that were born pre-WW2 lived in harsher days and experienced the effect that it had on our lives. We remember it well and appreciate the lessons that we were taught, however we find it difficult to influence the youth of today who only concern themselves with their next travel adventure, new truck, property enhancement or drug hit. They can't believe that at one time we had "black outs" and air raid drills and that such things as meat, flour, sugar, fuel, tires etc. etc. were rationed or that somebody came by the farm and counted the hogs in your lot and the chickens in your coop etc. and checked your sales and income records and the number and types of ration stamps in your book to be certain that you were not cheating on the rationing allotments. They have forever lived in the lap of luxury and just simply cannot percieve such circumstances. We remember. We hope that they don't have to learn those lessons the same way.

It’s not arguable how cheap those things were for boomers. Be thankful instead sensitive about it, no need to be butthurt boomer

I don’t give a frick about cell phones or coffee.
Boomers are so drugged and out of touch sitting back with their fat retirements and paid for houses with 200% equity that they can’t even see the world for what it is.
My parents who are boomers bought their first house for $60,000 3 bed 2 ba 1600 square foot house built in 1986.
They were able to do that on the salary of a prison guard and a dental assistant. With three children.
That same house now 35-36 years old just sold last year for $256,000.

I was a kid while boomers were taking out loans they couldn’t afford that led to the recession I got to come out of college and look for a job in. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY 100% on the BOOMERS. Idiot. Take some responsibility along with all the prescription drugs that are “ok” bc a doctor gave it to you.
So I need to go find out who caused the 15% mortgages, 18% interest rates, and joblessness when I looked for MY first job? and harangue them with stupidity?
Hmm maybe THAT generation had world conventions to decide how to use the power they suddenly inherited.
LIKE US! when we held our BOOMER CONVENTIONS and decided how we would use "OUR BOOMER POWER" (trademark reserved)
God, you know. this is mostly becoming what this conversation ALWAYS BECOMES - a FCKG PITY PARTY for semi educable retards who could not engineer a serious thought process if their LIVES DEPENDED ON IT!
NOT IMPRESSED. You guys are the most stupid group with which I have ever conversed. I expect any discussion to be what all of these discussions HAVE BEEN: A diatribe by dullard idiots making it up as they go (drugs, prescriptions, etc)- and nothing else.
scoot along you worthless punk azzes

You disappeared from our exchange. Why?
So tell us about how inflation has hit millenials/GenXers in a way it didn't boomers. You claimed it was obvious, so this should be easy for you.

I am not a boomer.
I worked full time and got my degree with ZERO debt.
It took seven years because sometimes I only had enough cash for two classes.
You idiots go out of state instead of community college and an in state university.
You losers also don't pay Federal Income Taxes because of the Child Tax Credit. (leeches)
You also can get taxpayer subsidized daycare unlike boomers. (leeches)
You also get low mortgage rates unlike boomers.
Have you told your boomer parents they are worthless?

Why is it always "Boomers vs. Millenials"? There's an entire generation in between (Gen-X) and and entire general after Millenials (Gen-Z).

You need to complete the scenario.
What were mortgage rates in 1986? Why were they over 10%?

Look up what the mortgage rate was in 1986 and compare it to today.

I worked my way through college. I probably averaged 4 hours of sleep the entire time. I majored in Computer Science, not liberal arts nonsense. I lived below my means while maxing out 401k, Roth, and investing every penny.
Silly me, I thought that it was all of that hard work, sacrifice, and delayed gratification that allowed me to retire early.
“I worked and supported myself while going to college and paying my own way.”
Bragging about something that isn’t even financially possible anymore due to the education and financial environment they created.
It is the epitome of arguing against their own stance.

There are engineering schools that have recent grad starting salaries higher than the cost of the 4-year degree it took to get them. Today.
