Leave it to a boomer to not understand the value of data I guess.

Your memory and feelings don't really mean as much as the data.

I posted nothing about feelings and nothing is wrong with my memory. You millennials just want to be the only generation with problems due to the fault of others. Your generations slogan should be "if you think you got problems, wait til you hear mine". It's sad, really.

No, I'm not

If you don't comprehend what I said you don't understand statistics past an elementary level.

Millennials were taught cursive in school. I sincerely hope you don't have millennial children, because that would mean you weren't paying attention AT ALL.

Here is the truth about retirement. It sucks! Most everyone I know loves it for about a year or two, relaxing and traveling. Then they find another job because of boredom. I probably will not retire until 70, but I work for myself so I won't take any of the millennials jobs they beleive they are entitled to.

Are you kidding me? GWB, Obama, and Trump are not millennials. How many millennials are in Congress?

Why is this such a difficult concept for millennials to understand?

Who is more responsible for the ridiculous run up in national debt - 400 boomers in Congress and the White House, or the 135 million millennials/GenXers that voted them into office?

quote:

But what if the work presented isn't paying what it would have in the 70s/80s? What if 1 hour of labor today buys a lot less than 1 hour of labor in the 70s/80s? And is that the fault of the millennials or those in power the past few decades?

Are you seriously arguing that an hour labor today buys less than 50 years ago? As i stated earlier in this thread, the disconnect here is an understanding of basic economics. Nearly everything is cheaper today than it was 50 years ago if you consider inflation adjusted value delivered.

One caveat - the Covid bullshite has likely skewed things because it was a bastardization of everything. But Covid has fricked with everyone and the BS lies at millennials/GenXers feet as much or more than boomers.

quote:

I'll provide some more data on the simple fact that economic opportunities are not the same.

Has the thought ever occurred to you that this is a “me problem” and not someone else’s fault? Maybe what boomers have to feel guilty about is raising kids to expect everything to be handed them.

And it’s ironic that many of the millennials that have come to this thread to bitch about their parents describe how they’ve worked very hard, sometimes even two jobs, pinched pennies, and now own outright their home and two cars - and then go onto whine about a lack of economic opportunity.

Last thing - I believe I saw you post that boomers are accountable for the last 40 years of America’s economy/politics. So basically from when they were 20-35 all the way through to today as 60-75 yos. You’re implying that millennials/GenXers, now 25 to 55 years old, and in numbers double boomers, are still not accountable for their own lives/prospects. Maybe there’s a clue here as to what the real issues are for the 25 to 55 year olds.

You are dumb.

That money was stolen from their checks.

What is welfare is stupid millennials going into huge debt for a college degree, then whining about it and then wanting a bailout.

You're just staring at facts and going "nah man". Your posts are entirely worthless now. Just bow out.

No, you're just completely wrong

It's actually impressive, the cognitive dissonance is astounding

Listen, young adults now are going to have to work harder or longer for the same things you have. Many aren't complaining about it...but you being sensitive about that is something else.

They get to skate on Federal Income Taxes and get taxpayer subsidized daycare so they can buy $1,000 cell phones.

Boomers didn't get that.

He’s basically crying that the demographic backdrop that boomers grew up in along with the technological advancement and entrepreneurial spirit they built our economy on is “unfair.”

That and about a dozen statistical errors that only a progressive academic type would fall for

Then it should be easy for you to lay out what I'm wrong about rather than posting more whiny bullshite.

Am I wrong that there are twice as many millenials/GenXers than boomers, and they have the same right to vote boomers do?

Am I wrong that inflation (that ran over 100% in the 70's) has been a bigger problem for other generations than it has been for millenials/GenXers (last decade it ran less than 20%)?

What exactly am I so completely wrong about?

ETA - you're the 3rd or 4th poster in this thread that has taken the time to argue that I'm obviously wrong, but it's funny that not a single one of you have bothered to explain what I'm wrong about.
