Why are folks so uptight about blackface?

It seems like something people THINK they should MAYBE be uncomfortable with, so there is this weird mass outrage when it happens. However, no individual really seems that upset with it.
Strange times we’re living in.

Folks are uptight about everything so it only stands to figure they would be so about blackface.
Of course there were other factors here besides blackface so if you are being intellectually honest you may want to reference them as well.

Because white liberals to me to be offended

Most everyday people arent. But liberals feed the zeitgeist on offensiveness, political correctness, and victimhood.

The Stephen Crowder bit where he infiltrates a she protest hits the nail on the head. Everyone on the group was trying to out victim each other...
It was hilarious.

I never found it funny or racist.

I’m not sure if folks even get offended. The media tells us they do and stirs the pot until the story gets old, then they move on to the next controversial topic and tell us how we should feel again.

For the same reason other people are uptight about an artist putting a crucifix in a jar of piss.

I put some black shoe polish on a pair of black shoes the other day; how racist is that? And I'm going to keep doing it so DWI.

Because the average American is a functional retard.

The better question is why are people more upset about a college dressing in black face than the same guy as an adult desiring to murder babies after they are born?

You've never seen Tropic Thunder or Lethan Weapon 5?

yes, it was always kind of 'meh' as far as humor
but it doesn't offend me
in fact, I hardly have any emotional response to it at all

No one will provide an answer but the question should be asked again and again.

Back almost 20 years ago, the actives in my fraternity told the pledges what costumes they had to wear at our annual Halloween party. The biggest pledge in our class was told to be a black baby. At the time, no one thought of it as being racist as it was more of a pun of how black males are typically a lot taller and bigger than white males, especially at younger ages.
It was all fun and games until right before he walked into the bar and passed a group of black males standing out front when we all realized it was a problem. Lets just say they didn't find it funny and he was lucky to talk his way out of it. After he got into the bar the poor guy was scared to go back outside. When it was time to leave, a group of us walked him to his car so he could go home and get cleaned up.
I realized then that there are many costumes most people find funny while others take offense. It goes beyond black face. We had another pledge dress as superman and he pushed himself around in a wheel chair. Most people laughed but then that guy came across a sorority chick whose father was paralyzed. She made scene about how terrible that costume was and left the party because she couldn't deal with it.
We also had a pair of twin pledges, one dressed up as a penis and the other was his nut sack and the penis had to ride piggyback on brother. Again, all funny until someone comes up and says that is disgusting and they should be ashamed of themselves.
Out of party of over 150 people, only 3 or 4 took offense and for different reasons. All in all, it was an awesome party where most people saw the humor. Bottom line is, people do things as a joke with no intentions to harm people. Our humor and personalities are all different but were people fail is recognizing the situation, intent, and wanting people to view the world the same way they do. This world has become a sad place where people can't take a joke or have a sense of humor because a very small minority acts like they speak for the majority. PC culture is not a good thing. I'd much rather live in a world where we can all laugh and make fun of ourselves vs a world where we can't laugh or tell a joke for fear of offending someone and having that turned against us and losing our careers.

Because Democrats don't understand the definition of black face.
Posted on 2/4/19 at 10:21 am to Eli Goldfinger
I wouldn’t do it because it looks like it would be a pain in the azz to wash off....
Posted on 2/4/19 at 10:22 am to Eli Goldfinger
People don't actually know what blackface is and is not, for starters.
