1. Pose a basic question about something that doesn't immediately stand out as a vital piece of a puzzle or even what the puzzle is.

2. Pretend that it must be important.

3. DON'T mention that since you don't know the answer, you don't know if it's even important.

Now all of a sudden it's not only a vital piece of the puzzle, the puzzle itself is super important, and this piece will basically allow the rest of it to fall until place.
