Who names their child Ulysses?

Born since 1822?

Not my favorite name but better than a lot of currently popular names.

Ulysses is Latin, Odysseus is Greek

A friend of mine who was born in 1947. His Mother and Father were college educated and liked the name. He chose a nickname and was using it in church Sunday school by the time he was four.

I'd rather Ulysses than some of the names coming from the 'hood or the trailer park.

My next door neighbor is an older black gentleman named Ulysses. He is the nicest guy I've ever met - retired contractor from San Diego whose wife owns a boutique.

I see the South still has sour grapes. Grant was the man!
