of course. Johnson lesser of two evils
Didn’t vote for him either. His VP said to vote for Hillary, so while I was planning on voting for Johnson, I instead stayed at home.

A massive number of people will "stay home" for a Trump ticket, that would vote a DeSantis ticket

I don't think this is realistic on this board. Most of us in this demo already voted for Trump when it was unpopular to do so. We'd do it again. The desire for Desantis is because they don't want to risk losing with Trump. You've made good arguments as to why that's some conventional wisdom worth questioning, but I don't think there are many who are focused on the lesser social impacts of voting Desantis.

And moderates who hate him to the extreme would now go to the polls to vote against him when they wouldn’t do that with DeSantis.

Gonna be big issues for you Ron is a lock crew

We can't seem to realize that a vast number of people vote for the person they like(not who's the best candidate)...and unfortunately Thump is despised by a vast number of people, many which are moderates.
The people who vote against Trump because they don't like him aren't going to vote Republican anyway. Because the media will just gaslight them over the evils of Republicans. The professional class are democrats - get over it.
And plenty of disenfranchised blue collar voters voted Trump because they liked him personally, not because of his policies.
It's a two way street.

Neither. Unfortunately, Washington D.C. has accepted the culture of corruption, especially in our voting process. IMO the last presidential election was stolen. Evidence of that injustice is slowly unfolding even as I write this post. I expect they will steal the next Presidential election.
Regretably the authorities (SCOTUS, DOJ, AG, FBI) in a position to stop this theft of the election, were AWOL. Let the record (and history) show, on the early morning of November 4, 2020 at approximately 4:00 AM (with those simultaneous ballot dumps in those swing states),the election was stolen from Donald J. Trump.
Facts are stubborn things - John Adams

They didn't vote because they don't historically vote. That's why they are low propensity voters. Trump did a good job at turning that group out. The disenfranchised vote who otherwise doesn't vote. They will turn out for transcendent candidates like Trump, but otherwise won't bother. Why you all are getting your panties in a twist over low propensity voters not turning out to vote for establishment stooges is hilarious.

The "angry moderate who hates Trump so much they turned out to go to the polls" angle is an extremely overblown media creation with no evidence, and is generally used as cover to be able to explain suspiciously high voting turnout/vote totals.
Trump still won the white suburban women vote in 2020, which is a giant shock to those of you.
The McCain-Romney-Clinton-Biden voter isn't coming back. Stop thinking you can win them back.

They didn't like him, not for his politics, but for his PERSONALITY!!!
I voted for him twice, but the guy just comes across as a rich prick!...and before many folks will vote for a rich prick, they won't vote at all....or vote for the grandfather figure.

zero doubt in my mind.
i can't fathom why anyone thinks Trump would have a chance, although he would have my vote if he was the nom

Trump has no chance, so I guess Desantis has better odds than that.

That depends on how much fraud is needed.

I’ll say this, the fact that the media continues its character/political assassination, etc. against DJT tells me all I need to know about who has the better shot.
At least right now.

I can't tell you how many people that I talked to leading up to the last election, told me that they couldn't bring themselves to vote for Trump, and the majority also said they wouldn't vote for Biden...now guess what those people probably did?

And how many voted for him because of his personality?
It's not a zero sum game, this doesnt occur in a vacuum. You think Trump was turning out 30k to his rallies and every single person was there because of Trump's policies instead of his personality?
If Trump wasn't gaining any support for his personality, he would not have had the massive edge in enthusiasm.
