Alabama: Big Luther or Mo Brooks
Louisiana: Clay Higgins

Idk who, but someone needs to primary Collins in Maine, Cornyn in Texas, McConnell in Kentucky, etc. Time to get rid of the GOP old guard.

GOP needs to go back to the drawing board. These races are entirely too close for comfort. I do give Bama a pass on the Moore thing though b/c he just had way too much baggage.

Watched John Merrill on TV last night and he seemed like a good choice for Bama or Mo Brooks.

Jace Robertson in Louisiana

I think Arkansas can be a close one. Cotton didn't win by that much in 2014.

Dude, you're one of the easiest marks ever for Steve Bannon if you think Clay Higgins for Senate or a primary challenge to Collins in fricking Maine is a good idea.

We would have a democrat super majority if people listened to you.

What?

First, it's a moot point unless Kennedy wants to be Governor. Second of all...Clay Higgins? Why not just throw Jeff Landry out there too.

Yeah, that is like some leftie saying what we need to do to improve our lot in the senate is go into Missouri to primary Claire McCaskill and replace her with Bruce Franks.

Kennedy will likely run for Governor in 2019. If he wins, Landry would be likely appointed to that Senate seat. The question would be whether Landry would be permitted to keep that seat until 2022 or if he would then have to defend it in a special election in 2020.

The next question would be whether Cassidy has a GOP Challenger in 2020, and if so, who it would be.

Maness likely would run as a splitter, as is tradition. Fleming, Higgins, Angelle, Boustany, Graves, etc. could all be possibilities.

I would love to have Graves and Landry as our two senators.

Would he? I guess maybe as a deal to keep him out of the race.

I figure if Kennedy is running, he'll happily take the endorsement of Graves and put Graves in the Senate. Graves is young and would have many years to get on those juicy committies. Plus, he's a pretty good politician and bright enough to be useful to boot.

If I had to put money on it today, I'd say the Alabama R nominee will be Del Marsh.

This. Kennedy doesn't fear Graves because despite his accomplishments on the Hill, he's virtually unknown outside of his district. Landry has far more name recognition state-wide as the sitting AG. Landry is probably one of the few players on the GOP bench that could potentially beat Kennedy to a runoff in an open primary against JBE.

Agreed. Graves has a really bright future ahead of him, and Kennedy is old as dirt. Graves will get his chance, believe me.

Mo Brooks who said people with pre existing conditions have them b/c they don’t live right just announced he has cancer.
Big Luther is dishonest. Stopped investigating Luv Guv so he could get put in Senate

Why would Kennedy, who has run for the US Senate multiple times and finally gets the job, ditch it halfway through to be governor? Dude makes a lot more lobbyist money in DC.

Higgins please. Boustany, Fleming, and Angelle are politics dinosaurs.

What's so special about Graves? Landry was ousted from the House due to redistricting. Landry is better as governor, keep him in the state.

Agreed. It probably would be worth it to Kennedy to clear the field, but I think he'd beat Landry anyway. I hear that Kennedy is one of those natural politicans. Doesn't forget a name, knows how to play the game. Landry hasn't shown me anything to believe he has the chops to battle with Kennedy.

All that being said, I'll circle back to it being worth it to keep Landry out while running up against an incumbant governor. Reasonable hypothesis.

I don't doubt that. He's going to be a fixture of politics in this state for a long time.
