The White House is preparing for what officials are calling "the Schumer shutdown" on Friday, Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney said at a press briefing.
Mulvaney, who was joined by White House legislative affairs director Marc Short, said that Democrats are opposing a short-term spending bill that they normally would support, noting that it's technically a "clean" bill that includes an extension to the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) -- for six years -- and some support the delay in some Obamacare taxes.
"We don't want this," Mulvaney said. "We do not want a shutdown."
Trump White House is claiming that they are not going to "weaponize the shutdown" like Obama did. National Parks will remain open.
They pointed out that a DACA deal isn't needed until March, but Democrats want to push it now.

so now it a FACT this was a complete obama fricking of the american people and not a single person in the press called him on it.

yep, he even shut down the white house tours so he can say "repubs killed kids dreams" while it was shown (but only by fox news) that the funding for the full year was already in place for the WH tours so it was purely a frick you to the kids for a political talking point

They are just being truthful.
There is no reason DACA needs to be involved in this negotiation. It's not required until March 5.
Democrats want to prioritize illegal immigrants over American citizens.

Of course not - all the MSM questions were about how bad the GOP was.
Mulvaney told us that the departments had many avenues to keep services open. Obama just wanted to "make people suffer."

During the Obama shutdown, a QAR inspector supporting my project at the time was allowed to go to work at his office. However, 90% of his job function was visiting contractors and inspecting product for compliance. He was required to drive a fedgov vehicle and pay for gas with a fedgov provided credit card.
Because of the shutdown and Obama's orders, he (along with many others with similar jobs) was forbidden to use a government car or the government credit card. He was also forbidden to use his personal car for his work activities.
The end result, he went and sat in the office each day of the shutdown and did absolutely nothing. Meanwhile, my invoices submitted to the fedgov was put on hold/delayed which impacted me paying my vendors. It was not a fun time.
Way to go Barrack. You a-hole.
