When do you predict the point of inflection will occur for diversity?

Quick question; Do you or not believe that the founding fathers created the Declaration of Independence from a core ideology of what America should be?

I retired before I was able to see a female Cavalry Squadron CSM or had to sit in a meeting with a female Scout Troop 1SG.

Seeing how a CSM seeming only bitches about vehicle alignment and Medpros, I figure I left at the right time. If I wanted to get bitched at by a woman, I’d just stay home.

And If I have lived in Japan and Singapore, and these places ask very similar questions?

I am probably one of most widely traveled dudes on this board. I enjoy good food. I rail that the "World History” I learned in school was pretty much "European History". I am amazed at much of the customs that have developed in different countries. Just last night, I tried a new Japanese restaurant here in Duluth, MN, that is one of the most authentic Japanese meals I have had outside Japan, and learned its because the lady that owns it is Japanese and imports the ingredients directly.

In short, I am a BIG fan of exploring new cultures and adapting their best bits. That does not mean I want it in my back yard or for MY culture to lose its distinctive characteristics. In my opinion, too much emphasis on "melting pot" goals can wash out the layers that are so much fun to have.

I honestly don't understand the mentality of people who, on one hand, trumpet the values of multicultural diversity, but then get completely bent when you suggest that there are inherently things one culture does better than another.

At the end of the day, I just think it is one of the biggest examples of solutions looking for a problem. Let cultures evolve and intertwine organically, rather than that being a goal in and of itself.
