After reading how Mondale got his lunch handed to him in 84’, what has happened since that election to lock CA in particular to be a solid blue state? Was it immigration? Reagan offering and getting amnesty for illegals? New waves of brainwashed kids that vote (D)? Yes we have fixed elections now but wow. Seeing what has happened since the 84 election is rather depressing.

The process started with the Department of Education (I believe a Carter gift to the country) and there was nothing done to curd the brainwashing from that point...

We have never had a terribly informed electorate.

We don't have uniformed voters to the degree at which is commonly thought. We have too many people with different incentives to vote the way they do.

I think we could argue that many voters throughout history haven't been well informed.

It got worse when we started to let anyone besides land owners vote.

I personally feel voters are more informed these days just from the wrong sources.

My cousin is an idiot, but she keeps up with all of the liberal talking points going on at all times across all issues. The political propaganda going on right now from all sides makes it impossible to know who to trust

Government run schools. Department of Education was founded in 1979.

Good point but I personally believe that is the point in history where this country went to hell on many points... Women were well informed BUT they started voting with their hearts instead of their head...

Amazing how true this is, I worked in an office of mostly women, very secure jobs, low stress as far as projects and production, sometimes too much time and inactivity. I was amazed at how much unnecessary drama and issues they dreamt up. It was almost as if they craved conflict, so when there was none, they created it.

I would say when it really came to light in my time is when we elected brother Bill the rapist. Not once but twice. I remember women saying how handsome he was and that was all the reason they needed to vote for him. We went from Regan to that in just 4 short years because daddy Bush was a fvck up.

This, along with:

1 - Decreasing percentage of Americans paying net income taxes.

2 - Those perfectly content riding in the wagon reproducing at a higher rate than those who strive to be successful and are pulling the wagon.
